I have all the books I could need, and what more could I need than books? I shall only engage in commerce if books are the coin. -- Catherynne M. Valente
We went to Maui and Oahu. But, if you wanted mountains, i would so something like Vancouver. I don't know, if you can swing it, I feel like it is nice to make it a trip that you would not normally take.
We did a cruise for our honeymoon and had a great time but I know cruising isn't everyone's idea of fun. I have looked into a New England/Canada cruise and it looks nice. I think most leave from Boston or NYC area.
What about Napa and Tahoe rather than Vegas. I love Vegas but I don't think I would want to honeymoon there.
carrotsmakemefat - That is the cruise I did last September. It was beautiful and we had a great time, but it was ALL oldz. The night life on the ship was super lame compared to other cruises I've been on, including Alaska, which is seriously saying something. We did RC out of Boston to St. John's Bay, Halifax, Portland, and Bar Harbor.
We went on a cruise to Alaska out of Seattle for our honeymoon. It was the trip of a lifetime and I wouldn't change anything about it.
My H and I did a New England to Nova Scotia cruise for an anniversary trip many years ago. We discovered we're not cruise people. My H also caught the norovirus so...
I think a New England road trip sounds awesome and more intimate for a honeymoon. You can stay in cute little B&B's and Inns and talk in the car. I find we have the best conversations when we spend many hours alone in the car.

Why not Vegas? I can't imagine going back after that. Or really many things west cost in general.
What about anything in Colorado?
I just want a combo of relaxing but having some fun, memorable things to do
Eta: Alaska just isn't the dream trip for H. He was born there and lived there a few times. The joy of being with someone who has been everywhere.
To me Vegas is more party my face off and that doesn't scream honeymoon to me. Maybe you have better Vegas self restraint than I do. LOL

Xh and I did Aruba which was amazing . This time around we are having a dw in Virginia beach. I'm a new Englander and highly recommend that for Autumn. Try hitting up the wine trails
I wouldn't honeymoon in Vegas. It's fun, but not honeymoon fun.
I'm biased and would do New England and/or Maine. We were going to take a summer road trip from Ohio to Maine last summer but had to cancel because the kiddo needed surgery. Acadia was our end point, but I feel like Stowe was on our list of places to stop.
We went to Vegas and had a fucking blast. We ate tons of good food, saw awesome shows (Elton John!!), walked around to all the different hotels, and got drunk at Margaritaville and people watched on the Strip.
We had a fountain-view room at the Bellagio on the 26th floor. It was beyond fantastic.
When we go on vacation, we like to Go and See and Do, so Vegas was awesome. We're going back on our 10th anniversary (in 2 years) to renew our vows with Elvis.
My default answer is Sedona. It's got mountains and is stunningly beautiful... There's hiking, rafting/kayaking, hot air balloon trips, really nice spas, cute shops and restaurants.
We're considering a bunch of options. Not looking to spend money on an overseas trip right now. We've both done quite a bit of travel anyway (military & study abroad). I haven't seen much of the U.S!
What we have considered
1. Some kind of cruise from Maine to Nova Scotia (no clue if these really exist...or something from New England to Canada).
2. Fall tour of New England (on my bucket list)
Princess Cruises does a cruise of New England/Canada. We went on a Princess Cruise to Alaska last September and it was GREAT. I highly recommend them!!
I *think* the New England/Canada cruises are on the brand new Royal Princess ship (the one Princess Kate smashed a bottle on!) :-)
We went to Quebec City because we only had a few days to get away at the time. It was lovely and romantic, but cold and snowy!! A year later we went to Aruba and stayed at Bucuti... That was more like it!
Of those choices I'd do New England in the fall. I also love the idea of Banff, Jasper, and the Canadian Rockies region. So stunningly beautiful. My friends honeymooned in Vancouver and said they can't wait to go back.
Another idea would be the Biltmore in Asheville, NC. That would be completely beautiful most any season except the dead of winter. You couldn't make a week of that one spot, but you could then drive up to Charlottesville, VA, (5 hour drive through the mountains - looked pretty scenic) and do some fun stuff around there. Virginia vineyards in that region are hidden treasures (I can give you some recs if you are interested), and of course there's some historical stuff to do as well in that area.
We did a cruise in the Galapagos. But we waited and saved for a year after our wedding before we went. We did 3 days in Cancun about 3 months after our wedding, which we didn't consider a honeymoon, but just a break after a long winter and all the wedding craziness.
Of everything you have mentioned, I would love to do a New England/Canada cruise. Or just a trip to Nova Scotia and PEI.

Not overseas, but Canada - Banff? Vancouver?
We went to tahiti.
Ooh, great idea. Sedona is awesome! And, carrotsmakemefat, I stay at the Sedona Summit for $350/week with getravelop.com (it's down this weekend but I promise it's a legit site). Southwest to Phoenix, cheap rental car, and more money to save for Alaska
B&B in the Shenandoah Valley. It was in October so the fall colors were prominent. We went apple picking, toured some wineries, and had a couple of picnics. It was great!

Rented a house on the Oregon Coast for a week. Brought my dog along it was really relaxing and beautiful. Oh did I mention crazy affordable. H was still finishing up college so we didn't want to break the bank. We were saving for a house.
