I hate typos. Like when you convert a PDF to word and it misreads letters - turns "ol" into a "d" - hate that!
Even worse are missing page breaks. I'm reading A Prayer for Owen Meany and it skips back and forth from them being children and adults. I get so irritated and confused when there isn't a page break and I don't know when I am.

This isn't just the Kindle edition. My paper edition of A Prayer for Owen Meany jumps back and forth with nothing more than an extra space between paragraphs.
As for reasons I dislike the Kindle:
I find it difficult to go to just the part I am looking for -- mainly because I use other pages as a reference point to find the section I want to re-read. For example, I know the "good part" of a particular book is on the bottom the lefthand page just past the midway point. And I know I could highlight or insert a bookmark, but I don't really think that way.
Also, I HATE pulling it out to read a book that is only available as an ebook and the battery is dead, so I have to wait for it to be recharged to read. I HATE that, really, really hate that.
But then I'm all over old-school. I still write pen & paper letters to friends, and I do most of my budgeting and financial stuff on paper or in an actual bank branch. And I copy recipes I find online to paper and put them in my recipe binder. I know I'll never switch entirely from paper to electronic methods, and my Kindle, as much as I like it for some things, will always be second best to paper books to me.
I took eight books on my cruise last October and left 6 in the paperback exchange part of the ship's library. Had I read them on the Kindle, it would not have been as easy to share them with others. I watched as one lady was excited with one of the books I left because she had been looking for a copy in the library and it wasn't available. It was so easy for me to leave the paper book and for her to find it.
Which kindle do you have that you can't read while its charging? The paperwhites you can read while charging. Honestly I don't hate anything about any of my kindles. I do find the typos very annoying and distracting while reading but I chalk that up to lazy publishing. I have a book where every 'I' was a / and 'I'm' was just a 'F' wtf.

Lol. Well, that's good to know.
The kindle has cured me of jumping ahead to the end of the book for clues. I'm not sure if that's a pro or con....
I've been able to read on both my Kindle Keyboard and the Paperwhite while it charges. I have zero hates for Kindle. I did not like having to use a light hooked up to my case for the Keyboard which is why I upgraded. I do find typos but that doesn't bother me too much.
The biggest thing I hate about my Kindle is not being able to lend books (or at least not all books, and not an unlimited # of times). I mostly buy used paperbacks since I can get them from my awesome local used book store for a similar (or often cheaper) price than Kindle and then they are mine to do with what I wish.
That said, I love my Kindle for travel and I'll never give it up for that. I just keep a couple of Kindle books on it for whenever my next trip comes up.
Wait, I got distracted from the hate.
Not being able to jump around and look back easily (esp. for books that have maps) is really annoying. I also hate that they all start at some pre-determined page that is not the cover, so sometimes you miss important early items such as a poem or similar that is actually relevant to the story. I always page back all the way to the cover when starting a new book.

I agree with ALL of this. I choose a book for my book club that ended up having hundreds of holds at the library and everyone had to buy it instead. I felt badly that I couldn't lend mine out.
When I first read GoT, I had no idea there were maps of everything in the front because it started at Chapter 1. I think I missed the prologue in another book, too, before I figured that out. I started bookmarking maps and pictures and such so I can flip easily, but I still miss paging back (or ahead) to something random.
