What makes me sad is the news said most groups/countries will probably start ending their investigations soon.
They also showed interviews of some Americans who had family members on the plane, saying they know they're still alive out there. My heart breaks for those families; I can't imagine how difficult it will be if they never get any closure.
I hope it is this over the other unimaginable options. I just wonder if it is this, how did the pilot not have time to make a distress call or any communication at all. Between the Co Pilot and the Pilot I would think one of them would be able to get some communication out. I sadly do hope this theory is correct.
I know that some of us are more tightly wound than others, but please...let's not freak out about the "unknown". Life is hard enough dealing with the "known".

The ones tightly wound up seem to be more of the people making fun of those enjoying the 'could it have been...'.
I dunno...I get the impression that some are having actual anxiety attacks over the "what ifs?"

I'm guessing that the plane was hijacked, a member of the crew was in on it (co-pilot), and it was intended to crash somewhere public for the purpose of terrorism. However, some passengers on the plane decided to take matters into their own hands and fought back. With no one left to fly the plane, it crashed into the ocean, hundreds of miles off course, and no one survived. Because it was a "failed" mission, the terrorist group responsible is keeping quiet.
Have you notified the authorities that you've figured it out?
Nope. Like I said, I was just speculating. No need for tinfoil hats or padded rooms.

It still doesn't explain why the computer was used to create an alternate route, or why the last communication came after the first system was disabled, right?

It addresses that in the article. The alternate route was entered to land, due to the smoke. Are we even 100% sure about the second part?
Well all the news outlets confirmed that a few days ago, along with the Malaysian government. Also confirmed it was the co-pilot that spoke. But who knows what's "certain" at this point.
As to the computer, I thought that it was programmed much further than a close airport, and that it was possibly a back-up, not the main computer, but not 100% sure. Although that doesn't count out the fire theory I guess.
I just don't see how a plane flies for 7 hours on fire, while evading all detection accidentally, and why the pots would shut down one system, casually communicate with ATC, then continue trying to shut down systems and put out fire, ya know?

I think the theory is that the fire destroyed the systems and the pilots were too preoccupied with trying to land the plane to attempt to communicate with ATC.

I get that. I was saying it does not explain why one system was shut off, then after the system was down, the co-pilot signed off and said "goodnight" or whatever all casually, the a couple minutes later the next system was shut off.
If there was smoke and they were scrambling to shut down systems, it would not have occurred in that order

This isn't saying it was on fire. I have no more to say. lol. My point is nobody KNOWS shit. So, let's wait and see. It doesn't have to be something as wild as what some people's 'guts' are telling them.
Of course nobody knows lol
We can still hypothesize, and we can still analyze theories being presented based in the information we hVe been given. That's all

They're now saying they don't know if any systems were shut off before the last communication with ATC. So the pilots could have been completely unaware of a fire at that point.
I don't know that people mean anxiety attacks over it just that their curiousity is on overdrive and they can't wait to find out which scenario is the scenario that actually took place.
Oh, some definitely do.
A few ML posters have alluded to feeling this way.

Apparently now Malaysia is backing off on that sequence...
"Malaysian officials have backtracked on the exact sequence of events--they are now unsure whether the ACARS system was shut down before or after the last radio message was heard from the cockpit--but said that did not make a material difference."

Of course they are!
So here is what we know for sure: There is a plane missing It is somewhere on planet earth

I think that covers it.
I'm contesting #2. It could have been an alien abduction of a whole plane. It could be on planet zudnaliejddf.
