I'm reading The Husband's Secret by Lianne Moriarty. So far I'm not sure what I think- there's a ton of characters whose stories I'm still trying to get straight.
Shotgun Lovesong by Nickolas Butler. I'm not very far, but it's really good. Also reading Rare Encounters with Ordinary Birds, a short little bird memoir of sorts by Lyanda Lynn Haupt.
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas - It's a little different than the movie so far. Just in some details. I'm only 30% in. I like it. It had some really bad reviews. I haven't read them but I wonder if the reviews were bad because of the topic and the fact that the story is not true.
Fall of Giants (audiobook). - This one is loooong! Almost finished with it but I still am not sold on this book. It's boring.
The Summer Garden - So far I prefer this book over the two others. I'm not very far in to it so I haven't formed a concrete opinion yet.
I'll probably start another book sometime today. Haven't figured out which one.
I'm reading The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb. I've had it on my shelf forever and decided to tackle it. I love his writing (haven't read him in years), and it's a rainy weekend here so I can predict some serious couch time this weekend with this book.
I'm listening to The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer. I hope I'm close to the end- great writing, but I'm ready to be done (the middle felt long to me).
I'm working on Consumption Economics for work - it's good and applies to my job, but I can't say that I'll stay up late reading because "I just can't put it down!" Yeah, no, not that level of excitement.
I started Mary Poppins after watching "Saving Mr. Banks." Feels warm and comfortable. :-)
And I'm reading a trashy romance. I'll be honest, I'm pretty much always reading a trashy romance along with everything else.
I am reading Pride & Prejudice for my book club. I know it is a classic, but it -literally- puts me to sleep. And while I enjoy a good nap, not exactly high praise for a book.
I am reading Nearly Gone. It is going pretty well. I think I will finish it, which is saying something considering the slump I have been in over the last couple months!
I then started A Tale of Three Chimps by Jared Diamond - it's a story about human evolution and so far quite interesting, but I'm only 1.5 chapters into it.
ETA so I picked up the book again today and looked at the cover and realized the actual title is The Third Chimpanzee. Oops.

I tried reading this about a week ago. Snore.
I get its a classic and all....but I just can't. Maybe I'll try again later.
I hope it's OK to jump in on this board. I just finished re-reading "Where the Heart Is" by Billie Letts for the first time in years. Such a great book.
I finally read "Gone Girl" earlier in the week. Loved it until the last page. I also read "Uganda Be Kidding Me" by Chelsea Handler this week.
Next I'm either going to start the next book in Jenn McKinlay's cupcake bakery series or I'm going to re-read "She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb for the first time in ages.

For sure! We have some good conversations but the board isn't exactly speedy so we love new people.
I have She's Come Undone on my TBR pile and was looking at it the other day before I picked up Three Chimps. Maybe I'll start it next.

Late to the party, but I Finished Fonduing Fathers very early Friday morning (just after midnight) and began Home of the Braised, which I finished Sunday afternoon. I'm now caught up with the White House Chef mysteries and have moved on to test Julie Hyzy's Manor House series. I'm only a chapter in, so I'm not sure what to think just yet, but it's not looking like a keeper.
During our weekly story-time, DH and I are working though a couple of books a chapter at a time. He's reading Nineteen Eighty-Four and I'm countering that heaviness with From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
I'm reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I like it alright; I'm about 40% through.
Also still slo-o-o-o-o-wly working through Don Quixote. I do maybe a chapter or two a week, so it will take me till I'm old and gray, but I do enjoy it. There are some really funny conversations between Quixote and Sancho Panza. About 15% through.

Ooh, I have 1984 on a waitlist at the library. I think I have read it but can't remember. High school is a blur.
