I have all the books I could need, and what more could I need than books? I shall only engage in commerce if books are the coin. -- Catherynne M. Valente
Does he like to read? I got my dad a Kindle (the cheaper one, not the Fire) for his birthday this year and he loves it.
I was just going to suggest this. We bought my dad a paperwhite for his birthday and he still mentions how much he loves it nearly a year and a half later.
Is this the part where someone starts a new thread about how hot Meggers dad is?
can you create your own stride box type thing? like a basket of useful stuff - running socks, water bottle, fuel (salted carmel gu!!! yum), those elastic laces, etc?

I thought about this, but he's so damn practical. And while I think Kindle's are practical, he'd be all, but I have books already.
Mine is too. I had to force him to get Netflix (I absolutely knew he would love it) by buying him a 3-month subscription. New fave hobby?--binging on old TV shows. And the Kindle? He said the same thing when I got mine years ago (don't you already have books). And now... he's an Amazon whore.

I'm big on experience gifts. I just got my husband a practice flight at our local airport-- 30 minutes with a pilot going him a flight run-down, then 30 min in the air. He got to take the controls, and fly over this area-- cool because he's lived here his whole life. Maybe there's something like that near you? it was $80.
I've also done an old-fashioned barber shave and haircut, which was a hit.
