So, last Saturday I bought a bottle of 150 vitamin B12 pills. I recently got a report that my levels were low. I had it on the bathroom counter and took one, then left home. When I got home, the bottle was on the floor and the top was separated from the actual bottle. The pills were nowhere to be found. My cats must've knocked it over and then my dog got it and somehow managed to get the top off or I hadn't screwed on tightly enough and she ate 149 pills. She weighs 10lb. I called the emergency vet and they referred me to the ASPCA poison control hotline. Luckily, the pills aren't toxic or life-threatening. They did tell me to induce vomiting and I tried multiple times but she wouldn't vomit. They told me there might be some side effects like vomiting or diarrhea. She has acted just fine since then.

Hahahaha awwwwww. Dogs are such handfuls! Your little one is super cute though! Glad She Is Feeling Better!!
My little dude has had some doozies. His first week home, he cost us $150 to the emergency dog poison hot line after he snacked on the blue toilet bowl cleaner bar thing. Turns out they AREN'T poisonous if you wanted to know. The following month, he had his stitches ripped out after an hour of his neutering. We had to keep him leashed for 4 days because he was sprinting around the house! His most recent was eating an entire bar of soap in 3 minutes flat. Cute but insane.
My dog wanted to be close to me at all times after he was neutered, so we put a baby gate up at the top of our stairs because the vet told us to watch him carefully on the stairs and the gate was easier. Well I went down stairs to so laundry and I heard a thud then a yelp. He jumped the gate cone and all and landed in the middle of the stairs. I came rushing out of the laundry room and the good ball was sitting there staring at me. No injuries what so ever, but of course it wasn't until paying $100 for the vet to tell me so. (He was 6 months at this point)
At about 8 months he ripped apart the inside of his cheek on a stick, it required another vet visit, soft food diet and close attention in the backyard for a few weeks. The vets assistant even had the guts to tell us how horrible a (puppy) mom I must be if I let my dog outside unattended in a duly fenced backyard. :/
Luckily our cats haven't gotten into anything too bad. They have cost us a lot taking them either to the emergency vet (Asher was puking like crazy and just not acting normal, it was nothing but a "bug" or something of course) or for surgery (Midnight had a urinary blockage.. that was NOT fun and really expensive, plus now he needs special food).
I'm not going into too many details here but someone I know had a dog that got into some uh, green stuff once (I didn't know them at the time). The dog got really lazy and the poor thing I guess was squinting when it went outside. I only laugh about it because I know the dog was fine, haha.
estrellita- my SILs dog got into some stuff to and she had to be taken to the vet, she got really really sick it was awful. (It didn't help that the dog was only 5 lbs)
When my parents' dog was only a few months old, she got her tongue stuck to a metal fencepost We tried to help her by melting it, but she got freaked out and ran away. Her mouth bled forever, but she has no lasting damage. It was awful.

OMG my dog was a menace as a puppy here are some highlights from her days of puppyhood: -she ate York peppermint patty bites that our cats knocked and ended up with chocolate toxicity. She had to stay overnight at the emergency vet, eat charcoal, and have her tummy pumped -she gave herself puppy pancreatitis when she ate part of H's belt as well as several bully sticks -Best of all she gave herself an intestinal blockage by eating carpet (why we have no idea) and needing surgery the day before we left the country. She was so pitiful -She also ate an entire bottle of my prenatal vitamins.
We got pet insurance after the chocolate incident which has since saved us a lot of money. She is better now but she was on a run for a while that was not good news.

awick14 the vet says she has "dietary indiscretions." She is 3.5 now and KNOCK ON WOOD has gotten better with age. Love her to bits but dang she just couldn't stop eating things that were not good for her. These things happened in the span of like 15 minutes of no supervision. She is crate trained but if I was just leaving for a second I would leave her out...well she taught me multiple times she cannot handle this lol.
