I love Daniel Tiger. I really do. He's like the least offensive of all children's programs. But OHMYFUCKINGGOD if I have to watch the damn potty episode one more time, I'm going to have to delete our Amazon Prime.
I never would delete that shit because free two day shipping but still. I can recite that whole episode by heart. And yet, DD still doesn't want to want to potty train.
What is your kid currently obsessed with that is driving you to drink?

He's obsessed with being an asshole. I hate toddlers and everything they stand for. Thank God Almighty his favorite shows are crime procedurals so I don't have to watch crappy and annoying kid programs.
doctordonna I will totally agree that Daniel's songs are the bomb but I would like to watch another episode once in a while. But no, it's the potty episode EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
We are going to attempt potty training again this weekend. I'm rally scared. I've got all the wine and vodka, tho, so I'm hopeful we survive.
I love the one about roaring and counting to four.
Last night I was getting mad at N for not going to bed. She tried the "I Have to go potty" bedtime evasion technique at least 15 times. Finally I told her it was the last time and took her to the bathroom (again.)
She said, while sitting on the potty, "Mommy, your face is red. Take a deep breath and count to four." then she counted to four using the hand motion.
Yeah, DD's new thing is to tell me "You are mad, mommy. You need to go to time out." It literally infuriates me which means I probably do need a break. And then she's proven right. Smart ass toddlers.
Zack is obsessed with super heroes. He is Batman, Wes is Robin, I am Wonder Woman, Brian is Superman and our cats are Green Lantern and Cyborg. He makes me fly all 33lbs of him into bed everynight.
My kid tries to parent Brian and I all.the.time. "You don't say that to me!", "Go sit at the table", "We don't say that word", "We don't yell". He is quite sassy.
For Zack, we did the gentle follow his lead potty training method. It took the stress out of it. He has been day trained since a little after his 3rd birthday. We still have him in Pull Ups overnight because he is still wet in the morning sometimes. I hope potty training goes well mrsbutt

What are your tips and tricks for getting kids to poop on the potty?
K is terrified of pooping in the potty. She will happily pee there, but prefers to poop in her pullup. She will actually go get herself one and put it on instead of going to the potty.
I've tried to let her take the lead but she's adamant that she does not want to do it. But I need her to be trained by her 3rd birthday so she can go preschool and it won't cost me an extra $200 a month. So I'm going to gently force this weekend and see what happens. I'm praying that if we do the no pants method, she'll be down.

How do I help her not be so scared of the potty?
I give him lots of yogurt and probiotics. We also told him that the potty likes to eat doody. I think that might scare most kids but he wanted to feed the potty. We also gave him M&Ms for pooping. That is all I got though.

Oh and we also don't use little potties. We use a step stool seat on the regular toilet. He likes being a big boy and using the adult toilet.
doctordonna - DS is the same. He is terrified to go poop on the potty. At this point, he'll only poop in his sleep in his Pull-Up. I have given him probiotics & fiber gummies to try to get him to go during the day, but no dice. We have tried bribing - telling him he can pick out a new toy or ice cream if he goes. Nothing seems to be working.
I just keep hoping it's going to click at some point. Most kids don't go to kindergarten still in Pull-Ups, right?!

Ugh. So sorry for all the parenting talk. LAME.
Maybe that is my UO: I enjoy parenting talk. Not all the time but definitely some of the time.

She always goes the same time of day. About 6:15-6:30 in the evening. Every day unless she's not feeling good.
She's also scared of unfamiliar potties. She'll go in the one at school, the one at our house, and the one at my parents house, but if we try to take her in a public potty somewhere, she starts screaming and goes completely limp-noodle.
I need somewhere to talk about Parenting. With a capital P. Because potty training is a mindfuck and if I can't talk to someone about it, I'm going to lose it. H is totally "whatever, it'll happen" and all I can see is extra money going to Preschool. And I no one here in my hometown with kids older than 2. Most of our friends have no kids.

We're about to put Natty in underwear overnight. She wakes up dry every day and the last couple of days she's actually gotten up by herself in the middle of the night to go potty.
We know this because we'll wake up and notice the bathroom light is on, then we'll look over and there's N, snoozing away in between us, the cat giving her the death stare because she stole his spot.
My kid never wakes up to pee. He just usually doesn't pee over night. And then sometimes we are woken up at 6:30 AM with a soaking wet bed (like this morning, for instance) It's fun.
