Update: No infection, phew. I called and talked to a genetic counselor just now. She said they tested for 3 common viruses and the results were all negative. They found no long term immunity and no short term exposure either. The ideal result is that I have some immunity, but this is good enough. I'm happy to hear it, though a bit miffed that they did get the results on Friday but nobody called me.
The recommendation is to up my fluid intake, take it easy, and wait until my next scan in 2 weeks. The doctor does not want me to exercise b/c she said all the oxygen should go to the baby. Fingers crossed that the kiddo gets a growth spurt by the next appointment.
Thanks everyone for your well wishes .
OP: I'm 25w2d. At my growth u/s this morning, the baby was measuring 22 wks. Since my abnormal NT scan at 12 wks I've been getting regular u/s monitoring, even though my panorama results were normal. My A/S was normal 4 wks ago, and the baby was measuring 3 days behind at the time. Now the doctor is concerned that since the a/s, the baby's growth has really slowed down. My placenta looks abnormal, about 50% thicker than the regular range. She suspects there could be issues with that and the baby is not getting the proper amt of nutrients. She had me do a blood draw to test for infection in the placenta. The nurse was having so much trouble that she had to switch insertion sites 3 times and finally got a good vein on the back of my hand. But then the blood flow stopped before she had collected enough, so she was poking deeper and deeper into my hand and it hurt like a mofo (wilted). I just hope they got enough for a correct test. I'll hear something by Monday. In the meantime, I'm scheduled to go in for another u/s in 2 wks and depending on everything, that could be moved up to wkly monitoring (my amniotic fluid is also on the low side of normal).
I asked the doctor what could be done if the baby's growth does not catch up. She said not much and if the placenta is compromised they may have to take the baby out. I don't even want to think about that .
On the up side, the baby was extra active today and kept kicking at the u/s wand and making the tech giggle .
Oh, I'm so sorry the ultrasound didn't give you better news. I'm glad that they're on top of the issues though. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.

That sounds scary! Good thing they're catching it now, though. DD had IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction), and needed an emergency c/s to get her out. But that was full term. I really hope anything that may be wrong is treatable and that your LO gets to cook in there as long as possible!
I'm so sorry that you got stressful news. I truly hope your tests come back with reassuring results and that little kicking baby is healthy and strong. Big hugs and take care of yourself.

(((((HUGS))))) I am soooo sorry for the not so good news at the ultrasound. I hope that the blood work gives better news. Try to stay focused on the here and now to keep yourself from going crazy. Focus on all the movement baby was doing on the ultrasound!
I'm sorry, that is really scary and stressful. And unfortunately all you can do is wait and see for now. Fingers crossed that everything works out. Hang in there.
I'm sorry you didn't get great news. But it sounds like your docs have a plan and hopefully the blood test results will help them figure things out more. Hang in there and keep us posted. Hugs.

I'm so sorry you are going through this and I'm sure it's insanely stressful. But it sounds like you have good care and a doctor that has a good plan with your ultrasounds. Lots of prayers for you and your baby.
