That sucks. I'd be pissed, too. I have to finalize our taxes this weekend, but luckily we are getting just a little bit back. I pretty much had them done a month ago but I've been lazy.
I have PMS and want to eat all of the chocolate in the world. If I had brownie mix in my house, I would have brownies in the oven right now.
I did our taxes two weeks ago, but still haven't submitted. I want to double check everything first. I'm guessing I should do that pretty soon... We owe several hundred, so I'm not in a hurry to submit.
I have a work AW. This is my second year being in charge of hiring interns for my department (~250 people). My department has a dozen managers and the interns are each assigned to a manager's team. My director (2nd level manager) asked me last week if I would be interested in being the supervisor for all of the interns this coming summer. He's essentially creating a new "learn to be a manager" position just for me. I will have 20-something direct reports (but original managers are still responsible for ensuring interns have day-to-day work) and instead of reporting to my current 1st line manager, I will report to the director starting next week! My current manager is excited for me and it's a great opportunity for getting a promotion to a real management position in the future. It's a lateral move right now, but I foresee positive career growth in the near future due to this
Ugh, that sucks about the taxes, RockNVoll! My H did ours last weekend. We got into a big argument about it. He leaves it to the last minute and I had to nag him to get him to do it last weekend. I didn't want to be surprised by a big bill! But luckily we pretty much broke even.
I got my first paycheck today! <) They defaulted to Single, 0 withholding and literally 1/3 went to taxes (I waived all benefits, H's are better). That sucks. I changed it to Single, 1, but I'm not really sure what I should set it to. It always feels like a crapshoot.
I'm so excited for the weekend! Work is going well, but I'm still transitioning back to working full time. I miss sleeping for 9 hrs every night.
I need to continue eating better and exercising regularly. I improved on both fronts this week, but I really need to focus on living a healthier lifestyle. Aside from the health benefits, I am vain and want to lose weight.
Today was the first time I have left an interview completely unsure of the probability of getting hired. I think it went well, but not knowing is making me so anxious.

For some reason I thought you were just having an informational interview, I didn't realize it was an interview interview! You'll have to tell me more at the GTG, but no sense in worrying about it now. I'm sure you did great.
On the eating/exercise front, I completely sympathize. I swear I could feel my hips and butt spreading this week...
I had a preliminary phone meeting a little while ago. I haven't heard anything else from that company. This was an in-person interview at a local hospital. I will certainly tell you more about it. Thank you!
I think it is very difficult for short people like us to eat within our RDA. My resting metabolic rate was only about 1200 kcal/day when I had it tested. It is nearly impossible to eat less than or equal to that amount on a daily basis for a prolonged period of time.
les: congrats on the interview! They can be stressful, so you must be relieved to have it done with. I'm sure you did great! I will cross my fingers for you! Is this the nursing job in NH?

Thank you! It is in NH. If I get the job, my commute would be about an hour. It would probably only be two 12-hour shifts per week, though, so it's definitely manageable.
The interviewers seemed to like me. We had easy conversations, they laughed a few times, and said they had no concerns about me. The numbers are simply stacked against me, though, as they said they are interviewing a lot of people for only a few positions. The job market for new nurses is so competitive.
RockNVoll that really sucks. It really doesn't help that you only have a few days as well.
I got a flyer at work and might buy a new car. I wanted to wait another year but it might be too good of a deal to pass up.
What kind of car? We are in the market for 2 cars, maybe 3.
I want a Subaru Outback, I have a legacy now but would really like to put the dog in a separate area from future children when we go places. And its a PITA for going to Home Depot/Lowe's with and I end up borrowing my dad's Forester a handful of times a year. I'm going to talk to my DH tonight and we might go to the dealership for shits and giggles on Sunday. But they are offering 0% financing and I could trade my car in and probably get a 5 year note and keep the same payment of $250/month that I am paying currently.

That sounds like a really good deal! I have never considered a Subaru. I am not sure why not!

I have a 2008 Outback. No issues thus far! It handles great in the snow and is really well made. My only complaint is that the backseat is a bit small, but that may have changed in the more recent models.
