I only buy generic. Did your XH really think there's a difference? Or did he just get it for the candy coating?
Advil has a candy coating. It's delicious. Then it says on the bottle, do not have more than two. Then why do they have a candy coating? I cannot help myself. - Mitch Hedberg
I buy all generic. My boss swears that the generic Adderall isn't the same as the brand name. I can't tell the difference.
I agree with your boss. I use generic everything because it is cheaper, but I used to take Adderall before the generic was available. I went off of it when I had my youngest and when I went back on, generic had become available and is a lot cheaper than the name brand.
I definitely don't feel the generic works as well as the actual Adderall used to for me.

ETA: XH, sorry.
Truth - I always buy advil for the candy coating.
Otherwise I usually just grab what the doctor prescribes, which is usually generic. 'specially with asthma medication. Even the generic with that stuff is pricey.
I work for a pharmaceutical company that only makes generic brands. We have customers like CVS and Walmart. I'm an analytical chemist there and I have to test all the product for purity and effectiveness. There really is no different between name brand and generic because the FDA regulates that shit and if shit doesn't pass purity testing, it isn't released.
