A) I feel like this has been overlooked. She can say Dr if her dissertation was accepted. However, as we all know, it is a gross misrepresentation since many people will not understand the different between PhD and MD. But, if she really isn't a lawyer?.
Illinois has very specific laws about who can use Dr. and who can call themselves "a doctor" and in what circumstances. Most states do. I do not believe her dissertation would result in her ability to call herself "Dr." unless she was teaching and using it in a purely academic.context and I am nearly certain that because IL does not recognize licensee for naturopaths, she cannot call herself "a doctor" which she also does all the time in every DB post she types.
So maybe instead of CEP being nervous that we may be sued for no good reason, she ought to be nervous that someone will file an ethics complaint regarding possible misrepresentation of professional credentials. I'm guessing the penalty for this isn't a mere wag of the finger.

Yes, let's be honest here. The only reason she's calling herself a doctor and a lawyer is to attempt to give her misinformed blathering a shred of credibility that it doesn't have. She hasn't earned the right to use either title, and using them to deliberately mislead people is pretty reprehensible.

Seems in a more recent guest post on a Chiro blog, she's using Dr and MD in her title. I'm trying to figure out when mid 20's girl had time to go to law school, ND school, get married and have a kid and be a SAHM?? That's some Doogie Howser stuff right there.
that eating organic is expensive, “Whole Foods – whole paycheck,” for the rich only, not affordable, unobtainable, and unrealistic.
I think this belief creates an excuse for people who really don’t want to change and a barrier to those who do.
And let me tell you…I have been there. When I was first diagnosed with Crohn’s disease my husband and I were poor students living on school loans trying to stretch a buck. But we all have to eat and what if that buck could buy a 2-liter of soda or two apples but the two apples, though smaller, kept you fuller longer, your figure trim, and out of the doctor’s office. What if the $1.00 2-liter filled your stomach only temporarily, ate your bones on its way out, added pounds to your waistline, messed with your mental, and catapulted you into the doctor’s office that ended with higher premiums, a lower gas tank, and a few expensive prescriptions?

Oh I'm SURE that was just a typo. N and M are so close together after all.
:::zips up flame suit:: It doesn't even matter to me whether or not a state recognizes NDs as doctors since the title has already lost much of its meaning from chiros abusing it. it still takes epic levels of hubris for an ND to sign posts related to health and medicine as a doctor. Surely the point of that is to steal the credibility a medical doctor's opinion would have. She should be ashamed of herself. Say what you want to say. It's the Internet. But you don't get to deceive people with an authoriTAY you aren't entitled to.
Which part was flammable? Because I can't seem to find it.

In many states it's a criminal offense to hold oneself out as a doctor/lawyer/other professional without the proper license.

that I don't think chiros should be able to call themselves doctors. I'm glad I'm not alone.
Dr. Megan Heimer, MD - is that not... redundant? No doctor of any sort signs their name like that, do they?
I don't think it's uncommon. I usually see it in a list of donor names for certain charities to distinguish the DDSs from the MDs from the DOs from the PhDs. All are perfectly fine uses of the Dr. title, but for clarity.
However, calling yourself an MD when you are not has got to be a violation of something.

MD aside, who chooses between soda and two apples? Like I was going to buy something to drink that would last me three days but I think I'll buy two mid morning snacks instead. Same difference.
Yes I can. The main chiro school in the country denies the germ theory of disease.
Tell me more about this
Palmer is the main school in the States. I actually had to suffer through a lecture from a graduate from there during nursing school (he had the gall to teach A&P). At one point he said proper neck adjustments prevent strep throat. I straight out asked, incredulously, if he was denying the germ theory of disease. He didn't give me a direct "yes" but that was his answer.
Palmer himself said that (paraphrasing) if the germ theory of disease were correct no one would be living.
This is why I will always go to a DPT instead of a chiro should I ever have biomechanical issues. I cannot trust someone who so blatantly ignores science, even if they're actually decently trained in a narrow focus.
Also, I vote that we start doing what FJ did for Doug Phillips (is a tool) so that it autofills on google.
Megan Heimer is a quack. Or something along those lines. Suggestions?
Lolollllllllll.
We did this in the original thread. It is why she threatened to sue Proboards because she feels that it constitutes harassment to state that she is spreading misinformation and compromising public health.

I think referencing yourself as an MD is spreading more misinformation. And in a very illegal sense. Calling someone a quack isn't slander/libel, right?
But we do have documentation that she's spreading misinformation, directly to her name. And compromising vaccine status does compromise public health. What kangaroo court would side with her?
Y'all can call me as expert witness After all, I do have an RN BSN, BS behind my name. From legit credentialed institutions.

There is a Palmer where I live.
I've heard a local pediatrician remind parents that the herd immunity in this area is crap because all of those damn hippies.

I guess what I was saying is don't most doctors put "John Doe, MD" or "Jane Doe, DO" or "Sally Smith, PhD" rather than "Dr. Megan Heimer, MD"? The Dr. and the credential seems to be redundant.

Weeeelllll calling her a quack could be libelous since it disparages her profession. But calling her a fake doctor? Totally safe. Truth is the ultimate defense!
Quack is opinion, not fact. That's why I think it's ok.
asdfjkl or another lawyer, can you confirm/correct me?
It's like if I call someone ugly. I can't get in trouble with that.
And, well, the profession should be disparaged. I've fought hard against allowing NDs to be licensed in CO. License gives impression that you're qualified, and the state shouldn't be allowing that.
