Interview followup - how to word this email?

Quick series of events recap:

3/25 - I had an awesome job interview. I think I clicked well with the SrVP and the whole team. At the end, they said they'll be making a decision in 1-2 weeks.
3/25 - sent thank you emails individually to the team (attached professional references to SrVP.) He responded with "It was good meeting you. Thank you for the references. We all enjoyed the interview very much."

Since then... *crickets*

So, I should check in again, right? It's been way beyond 1-2 weeks. None of my references have been contacted.  I want to show I'm still interested, but I also don't want to come off as being impatient (as I know their office has been quite busy lately.)

Any advice on wording?

I'd say something to the effect of how you want to check in and see how the process is coming along. You're still very interested in the position. Is there anymore information they need from you or any follow-up questions that they may have?

I agree with ECB & Rock-n-Voll. They may have had to interview other candidates and scheduling was an issue. It sounded like it went well. Best of luck!
