So MH has long hair, but he's basically just let it grow out and will then cut it all off. Rinse, repeat. I have finally convinced him he needs to get it cut in a nice, longer style. He has a small head, and a weak chin (I'm the nicest wife, ever, right?) so having a fuller head of hair and beard tends to look best on him.
Anyway, this is a recent pic of him:
I'm taking him to the fancy salon (he's making me go with him because he's scared, lol), and I wanted to have some options/suggestions even though I asked for someone experienced with men's curly hair. Here's what I've come up with so far. Thoughts? Other suggestions?
I'm also gleefully anticipating making him buy nice hair products (styling, shampoo, conditioner) so I can earn ulta rewards on it, lolz.
I am laughing so hard at this post. You are hilarious. And that picture of your husband with the kids is beautiful.
I have no advice on the hair.
LOL, I giggled while typing it. And you complimented the pic of my loves. SO I WILL FORGIVE YOU FOR NOT OFFERING AN OPINION. He's hopeless with opinions on physical appearance, so I always feel the need to seek outside input since he will just shrug at me. Also, I'm gonna be like his mom taking him to get his hair cut for the first time this afternoon. He was all panicky on whether I could meet him there.
BTW, my kids are his mini-mes, just beardless. It's like all I did was incubate them for 9m.
Nooooo! Your H and J have the bestest man hairs EVER!!
copz!!! It needs some shape and style! It's gotten longer since that picture (that was shortly after Christmas). I'm not opposed to him keeping it longish, it just needs to be styled/shaped up and he needs the right products.
Besides, I blame my focus on this on the people of this board. You got me in makeover mode with that makeup thread so I had to take it out on someone.
Here's the real question - will he actually do the work to shape it and maintain it once it gets cut into a style that needs maintaining? That will drive my answer.

I think all the pictures you posted are about the same, longer in the front, layers down the sides/shorter as you go down. Like the opposite of a mullet. He has perfect hair for that look though. lucky you hehehe. also, I envy his waves.

Yes, he will. Right now he uses some styling products, because it is so wavy/curly that it will just get huge, frizzy, unmanageable and crazy looking if he doesn't do something. I don't think he would go so far as to use a blow dryer though, which may be an issue depending on how his hair responds to a cut (like curling up too tightly... I'm concerned a bit about how it will react because right now it's mostly wavy since it's long/weighed down but when it's shorter, it's curlier).
He'll also keep up with cuts, I think, because I will be the one making the appointments and insisting on it. He'll just have to show up. That said, I would like to keep it to a point where he doesn't have to go too often. Which makes me think some of the longer versions of this basic style are probably best vs. a shorter one that would require more frequent trimmings...

Tell me about it! Our daughter has his waves/curls and I hope every day that she keeps them... and am very jealous of them.
And he jokes that he keeps his hair long because of my Jon Snow obsession, lol, but that's so not true. His long hair predated my Jon Snow obsession!

Then I vote #1. I think the length in the front especially will help it not curl up too tight, as opposed to the other two. Plus, it's kind of hot.

I keep staring at that picture trying to decide if it's the model, or the hair that makes me drool (prob a combo of both). It's for research, so it's cool that I just keep staring at it right?
I think #1 is the winner. I'll see if I can get him to pose for after pics this evening, haha.

Super cute family! Oh and I think #4, then #1. I think #4 would be easier for a guy to just wash and run out and #1, might turn into him doing the skater-nod all the time.
