1. Positives from your week? I'm feeling pretty good about my diet/exercise/bs numbers lately. I seem to be on the right dosage of medication, and have only had 3 highs in a week (all only 1-3 points high). My dr. is happy with the improvement too.
2. Negatives from your week? Even though I've had a couple of high readings, I'm not feeling too negative.
3. Any recipes/food ideas you want to share? (I'll put this question in each check-in, as I'm sure a lot of us are always looking for new ideas). It's not a meal idea, but I'm really loving the white cheddar popcorn from Trader Joe's. 2 cups is 15 grams of carbs (I think).
4. Anything fun planned for your weekend? My sister will in town, so I'm looking forward to that. And I think we're going over to my cousin's for Easter brunch.
1. Positives from your week? I had 6 out of 7 fasting numbers that were good, which is awesome. I had a great dr. appointment yesterday, we finished up the last couple of things needed from my anatomy scan and I got to see the baby for a good long time which was awesome. We got a great profile pic, and a really sweet picture of her foot from the bottom.
2. Negatives from your week? Had a couple of high lunch numbers and a high dinner number, but nothing showing a pattern so dr. isn't concerned.
3. Any recipes/food ideas you want to share? (I'll put this question in each check-in, as I'm sure a lot of us are always looking for new ideas). I tried this "pizza" recipe on Monday and it was actually pretty good. The crust was a bit salty because of all of the cheese, but I miss pizza like crazy so this was better than nothing! lucysdiabeticfriendlylowcarbmeals.blogspot.com/2010/07/fantastico-pizza.html?m=1
I've also been loving for a snack Costco's Kirkland brand trail mix. It has almonds, peanuts, raisins, cashews and M&M's, and you can eat 1/4 cup plus an 1/8 cup for I think around 22 carbs. I love that I get a few sweet M&M's in there. Plus it has so much protein from the nuts that it's pretty much an "all in one" snack. I've also been loving Fiber One's dessert squares with my lunches when I need some extra carbs. The brownie one is my favorite.
4. Anything fun planned for your weekend? OMG this weekend is crazy. We are in the middle of a remodel in our basement to get more living space in our absurdly small house, so Saturday DH is working with a friend to finish the electrical and the insulation. Meanwhile, I have to go visit my Grandma about 45 minutes away, do some errands, and go to a birthday party at 2 for DH's cousin. Then Sunday for Easter we are going to his family at 9 and my family at 2. I think what I am going to do eating wise is swap my snack and meal times. So instead of eating breakfast at 8 or so and my snack around 10:30 or 11, I'm going to eat my snack when I get up at 7ish, use the meal with DH's family as my breakfast, then test 2 hours after that, then eat a snack around 12, then use my meal with my family around 2:30 as my lunch and test 2 hours after that, then have something for dinner later on probably around 6. Eating on Easter has been stressing me out for weeks, I'm so bummed to miss all the "good stuff", especially the breakfast stuff with DH's family. But I just keep reminding myself that it'll all be there next year, and I'll get to enjoy with our little girl which is a pretty good motivator!
1. Positives from your week? Doing well and just taking it day by day.
2. Negatives from your week? Fast numbers are still high....boo.
3. Any recipes/food ideas you want to share? (I'll put this question in each check-in, as I'm sure a lot of us are always looking for new ideas). None.
4. Anything fun planned for your weekend? We will celebrate DH's birthday on Friday and then he flies out to India for a week on Saturday.
