Between CEP and S&B I love the balance I get. I also felt some sort of pride when y'all invaded S&B over the BR lawsuit thread. I was like, that's the board I know and love.
copzpartdeux, what would you like to know about the makeup thread?
I feel like none of it would apply to me since I am *ahem* probably an elder when it comes to makeup.

pfffft. You'd probably do well with the Naked Basics. I'd honestly have to see a picture and know your skin type (dry/oily/combo) to offer more specific info.
Combo skin (oily T)....blue eyes, longer highlighted hair with bangs growing out. Round face. Tan easily. Scared of lipstick.

Ditto @smorriso. Get yourself a Naked Basics palette - it's all neutral colors in matte, so no crease-amplifying shimmer. The best $28 you will ever spend on your face. Then watch some tutorials and see how easy it is to make a simple but sophisticated look. I promise.
copz, just read the thread. We have one baby who we threatened to skinsuit (surprisingly she stayed around ), and the rest of us are figuring out our older skin.

I'm deep into it and having a TON of fun.
I threw away pretty much everything I owned (except lipsticks and pencils) and I've been on a huge makeup binge since the thread started. I've also been WEARING makeup, which is way way way not what I usually do.
...also, I've actually started doing eye cream and moisturizer morning and night, something I'd actually not been doing at all, either.
At 118 pages in, I am officially scared to enter the makeup thread at this point.
It's all good fun, and some of the fluffiest brain-candy reading you will ever do. Best of all, if you binge read it, you will see regulars undergo total metamorphoses in their attitudes and behavior. I'm half-tempted to re-read the whole thing in one sitting just to be reminded of who was saying what in the early parts of the thread as compared with where they/I stand now.

I am going on 9 days straight wearing make up. I don't think I wore make up 9 times in the whole 6 months preceding the thread.

I've worn makeup more often in the past few weeks than I have in the past 7 years. True story.

No, its fine! I am jumping back in after paying attention for the first 10 or 20 pages or so. It's not still talking about products that were on page 5. It's more like 'i went shopping today and got X, how does it look." MUCH more manegeable. I had been scared too.

You shouldn't be scared! Your wallet, on the other hand, should be fearing spontaneous combustion.
Lol!
Just come in and play emilyj, it's fun. I've resorted to just keeping a list of intriguing products I wanna try. Plus I need a larger organizer at this point. :/
I wish I had the confidence to navigate the makeup thread
I'm sitting right here with you...i have some Prescriptives stuff that's older than I'd like to admit. I went into the MAC store once and came out looking like a clown, so now I wear lip gloss and that's it! I don't know if I have it in me to do make up everyday, but I do want to have some good stuff on hand for when I go out
