Wtf is with them trashing the couple's car? I've seen people decorate it for a wedding but mothballs and sardines? That's horrible.
Also, I'm sure there is a way to make a dress modest without looking ridiculous. Kate's dress was modest and gorgeous, why do they buy a strapless dress and just add ugly straps.
I agree with the car trashing..WTF? I don't think the rental car company is going to react positively to the strong odor of sardines & moth balls.
I loved the cooking basket gift they made for Erin, haha.
Jessa...I have no clue if it's disinterest, awkwardness or both? She def doesn't wear her emotions on her sleeve so I tend to think she does really like him but doesn't like being filmed and def doesn't like of the awkward questions from Jim Bob.
I think the way Jim Bob poses questions makes Jessa pause. He keeps asking what does she want the world to know about her relationship with Ben. I wonder if not all the kids are that into filming. It seems really forced.
I'm also convinced by the time Josie is old enough to court, they will have given up on courting and she will be able to do whatever she wants. I think Josie is going to be the wild one.

That pink room was out of control. Even the Duggars were side-eyeing it. I don't know if it's cute that she finally got to have a pink room, but I felt like even if she wanted pink walls, the room overall could have looked a bit more mature. It looks like a little kid's room.
I didn't like the cooking gift basket! I thought it was kind of mean. No one cares that the men can't cook!
I had to turn it off bc the bride (Erin?) got on my nerves. I really hope she was acting like that for the cameras and isn't like that in real life. And the 2 younger ones that ended up being her helpers? They kept saying how she was her best friend, but they weren't even bridesmaids, right?

It really seems like Jessa isn't into Ben that much. He has no business getting married and having a zillion babies any time soon. He should cool his jets, build a career, and then come back for Joy-Anna in a few years.
I loved all the attitude Jessa was giving Jim Bob on the bus.
How old is Chad Paine? What does he do for a living?

I thought the same thing. Until I realized all of her sisters weren't even bridesmaids. There were only 5? Or 6? - not like the Duggars, who lined up all the sibs for Josh's wedding.
Agree to all who think Jessa doesn't like the cameras, especially about this part of her life. I think there was an episode where she was more involved behind the scenes and stated she preferred that.

Her parents might not care, but she'll have a ton of judgmental siblings who will give her shit. It's tough to say.
-Jim Bob is so odd and weird. Could they make Jessa feel anymore uncomfortable? -I remember cars being trashed like that when I was a kid. Like stinky cheese on the motor. Midwest, nothing better to do, I guess. They "belled" my parent's which was lots of stupid shit like saran wrap on the toilet. Old fashioned, I think. -The wedding dress, not attractive with those modifications. -That bride was almost Stepford creepy. LOVED the pink bedroom, not. Every guy's dream.
You know what. The more I think about this the more sad I get. Michelle and the Bates mom make it seem like getting married is the single most important thing you'll ever do. I feel bad for those girls. Being given a gag gift because you're not the best cook? Annoying.
What happens if one of those girls want to go to school and become a lawyer? Or have a FT career outside the home?
They totally seem like cool-aid drinkers. The look on Jessa's face quite often during last night's episode makes me think that there might be a chance that she will rebel. It is sad.
I just love the Duggars so, so much. It's so hard for me to find anything wrong with them.
That said... this whole Jessa courtship is weird. He's so much younger than her, has no "real" job or education, etc. And she doesn't seem that into him.
Jill, on the other hand, I am so, so happy for. She seems super in love, and the guy she's marrying is adorable and seems like a great guy.
I notice Erin is more lively for the camera every time she's filmed. I think she might be a little anxious and that's how it plays out.
Jessa doesn't seem to like having her personal life under a microscope. I noticed in a previous episode that Ben said "she gives me confidence" when he was talking about what each of them brings to the relationship. I believe it. And I think the show (her parents) are forcing too much camera time. It could shake things up, so it's got to stop.
Carmen Bates has grown up so much. She's about Joy's age, give or take a year. It was sweet to hear her say over and over that Erin is her best friend. There's a big age gap there! She's gorgeous, and is one of the sweetest Bates girls.
What's Anna's "big news" on the next episode? The Today show announces pregnancies/major life events or leaks get out before the show breaks news. So they're playing up something small, like what they're eating for dinner, and turning it into something it's not. #annoying

I'm happy for Jill, too. Her fiance is a grown-up.
I also like that she seems to have a real passion for midwifery and I hope she can continue to have a career. I think she and Derrick have a much more promising future than Jessa and Ben.

I also feel that Jill has grown up SO much in the past 2 years. For a while I wasn't sure about her. But I like her more than I used to now that she seems so focused.

I think they announce on the Today Show the day the episode airs, don't they? So they're just breaking the news by 12-14 hours or so?

I was wondering the same thing and spent some time googling last night with no results. I think it's something lame like having to cook for a record number of guests or fit a ton of family members in their house or something (they previews showed upwards of 20 people coming over soon?). Lame.
I just love the Duggars so, so much. It's so hard for me to find anything wrong with them.

What? Are we thinking of the same family? You see nothing wrong with requiring your children to raise your other children thereby having no childhood? You see nothing wrong With encouraging your sons to have a career and not your daughters?
i feel so sorry for those older girls. I can't imagine spending everyday since you were 8 raising your parents children.
If I had to cook for 20+ people my ass would be going to costco for pre prepared shit or hooking up a bunch of crockpots in my kitchen. Easy peasy
It's also just a family dinner, not a party. I don't see how it can be "that" overwhelming. Toss in 4 lasagnas. Make a huge vat of baked ziti. Roast 4 chickens a day in advance, then toss them into the oven on low to warm them.
Veggies are SO simple. Frozen peas or corn with a little seasoning. A huge pan of zucchini.
Then buy like 10 boxes of rice pilaf.
Okay, maybe I'm being mean. But if I had 20 family members joining for dinner, it wouldn't be nearly as stressful as hosting a party.
I mentioned this in a randoms thread, but I wonder if Jana is intentionally not courting in an effort to limit the number of children she has. If she doesn't marry until 30, she'll end up with far fewer children than someone who married at 20.

I wonder if the "big surprise" Anna gets is that they're going to be a day late or something. You know, when she already has chickens in the oven, rice on the stove, etc.

Did anybody else notice how Jana was in interviews but never said anything. She looked so uninterested and did not want to be there.

She just smiles and nods. I want to know what's going on in your head, Jana!
