Oh lord. I remember when I first started lurking over there. JLM was a popular poster and most seemed to just love her. I was really bothered by her giving away one of her girls. I was happy to see she was a fake.

Nope, just read about 4 random pages, couldn't keep up, so I left.

Now, I'm down the rabbit-hole of just finding out the Café Press does rugs that are somewhat reasonable if you have a 20-30% off coupon and are kind of interesting.
There is a flash sale until 2pm MTN that where everything is 25% off and I'm tempted to buy a rug or a shower curtain.

Yes, that is what I said in CEP - I can't imagine spending years on a fake persona to make online friends or get attention, I bet she is a such a lonely person IRL.

It's some scary stuff. Basically someone has made up a bunch of people. To scam the board for money and things.
They did this buy stealing pictures off the Internet and making fake FB and IG accounts. This scammer even made fake friends on these accounts.
The whole thing is really crazy just for the shear amount of time and energy put into this.
Seriously creeps me out.

Um, if someone participates in a secret Santa, even if they are fake, don't they still send a gift and receive a gift, so that's not really scamming $$ - it's even.  And if someone bought used clothes over the web, they got a good for $$, right?  How is that a scam?

I can't get sucked down that disaster and lose all faith in humanity afterwards, but Em is real. We've chatted quite often and I've received prompt and great gift exchange packages from her twice in the past.

I was going to finish reading my book today at work when things were slow. Instead, I got sucked into reading all 100+ pages and am still sitting here refreshing. Better than anything on tv tonight.
