Very interesting. I wonder if suicide and drugs are the biggest killer of 45-55yos because that's the time of your life when you hit the proverbial mid-life crisis.

When I was a kid, AIDS was a death sentence, and usually a fairly quick one. That message was beaten into all of us so hard that I still marvel that anyone who is HIV+ lives more than a couple years.

Some medications. I'm not sure about other therapies.


But, largely, there's been a huge surge in specialized dementia care. Special areas of extended/nursing care homes, crisis management care, etc. 

My brother and a friend work in the industry.

Ditto. What actually impressed me the most is the rapid drop of AIDS related deaths in the mid-90s.

Fascinating. I thought the fact that an increased number of people die from drugs or suicide in the last years vs. guns.
