My family is from the Ukraine as well, but my nana and her family left after the Revolution back in the 20s.
It's so horrible. Could you imagine that happening here? I get so centered on the US and what we consider acceptable and not that I sometimes forget how lucky we are. I feel so bad for the families being effected by all of this.

We are from Kiev (my Mother's side - Father's side is from Odessa and his Grandparents are from Romania) - but my Grandmother and Grandfather both grew up in Shtetls outside of Kiev. I need to figure out what the names are!
