John Johns for the win.  If I had a little boy he would wear only John Johns for his first year of life.  They are so classic looking.

I bet there is a Royal catcher at the bottom of the stairs. They have so many protection officer, his little regal head I am sure would be safe. And I think she practices.

I just realized why these pictures always strike me - BECAUSE SHE'S ONLY CARRYING THE BABY. When I see my friends with kids, they have the baby, a stroller, a bag the size of my body with all the baby's stuff, some kind of baby carrying contraption, and then a smaller bag with just their stuff. I never see anyone with JUST a baby!

He may like his mom more? Sometimes babies go through that stage where they only want one person to hold them. If that's the case, the royal handlers probably prefer Kate carry him...better photo ops.

This is my guess.
William was recently doing a 10 week course at Cambridge in land managment and was not at home as much so George may be in Mommy mode right now.
Or they think for PR purposes it looks better to have Kate carry him.
Or maybe Kate just prefers holding him.
