I love it! It looks like it has so much 'movement/texture' with the light. And I don't see any bubbles ?
There are only a few with bubbles. The bubbles and irregularity of the handmade tile is more visible up close...just like the grout.
The light really does play with it. It really has more greenish gray look to it than this photo, but the way the natural light is right now, from this angle, it has much less of the bottle glass color to it.

OMG that is beautiful tile! It all goes together so well...the two tone cabinets, the gray countertops, the cabinet hardware, and the textured tile in a fun shape. It's perfect for your house style.
I really feel like most of the photos make it look more blingy than it ilooks irl. It actually has a fairly straightforward old bottle glass look (some clear-ish and others with a more tumbled seaglass look) from close up and when you see the area around the sink.
It definitely has more bling than I was expecting when you walk into the room and see the area above the cooktop, but that is actually a good thing. I was a little worried that it was going to be too hippie. lol
Love the tile with that light fixture! Are you guys doing this all yourself? Well done with design and construction!
Thank you for the compliment. We have hired out the work, (really great sub contractors on this job), but I designed the space myself.
We were working with a GC on other projects and had his guys and subs take the room down to the studs move things, replace wiring, add a gas line, and build it back up for us. We used his floor installer, but we sourced the tile, the fixtures, the big light fixture, cabinets and appliances.
Our cabinet guy (a cabinet fabricating company owner with a lot of experience , not an actual designer) really helped me a lot with finalizing the cabinet sizes and figuring out all of the shelves vs pullouts vs drawers stuff, and he found us the guy who installed the backsplash.
