I think a non vehicular border would look nice. I really like the idea of a red/orange...maybe a tone on tone print rather than a solid...only because the border gets the most wear and solid shows all of the schmutz that comes with babies.lol.

How wide were you going to make the border? If a wide one, me personally would go with more of a solid. If skinny, I'd probably go with a print, but definitely something bold (red, yellow).

I agree with PPs. I'd go with something like the fabric you used for the planet. Something bright and mottled solid. The quilt looks great! I'd hate to distract from all the hard work with a super busy border.

I would also choose a solid or a semi-solid fabric. I really love the pattern of the actual quilt (It's fantastic!) and I don't think you need more of the same thing.

If you were planning on putting on a wide border you could frame it out with a thick red border and binding. I'm thinking a crisp orange-red for the border and than a very deep red for the binding.
