Well, I didn't want to give her too much info so I had to be vague. The timing is really, really bad.
Uff da. <-- hey, newly delurked, if you're from MN, what does this mean and how is it used?
ETA: Also, melindafelinda, after she wrote this "Yeah, but after reading that monster thread I thought I might want to chime in a little, maybe? I don't know. I thought the Jim/l&l/vaba thing was dying down since I didn't really think she was going to show up." at what I think is pretty much the same time as Elle's deadline to have an AMA??? Anyone who had lurked here for months and read the monster thread and offshoot threads would know NOT to start an AMA at the same time as the deadline time. Unless we're dealing with someone who is innocent here but super, super clueless.
I don't like this abbreviation.
Fixed it. (I didn't know if she had caps or not originally. I was lazy. Can you take it out of your quote in case it bugs her?)
The appropriate answer was "MOA? Are you high? I'm not a tourist."
FALSE.
The only correct answer to that question is the Peeps store.
Peeps as in the marshmallows? Holy shit, I love those. I am intrigued. We just got flavored peeps this year (I'm in Canada) and I am in love all over again.
I'm in MN, too. Please do a fill in the blank for me:
Summit Avenue.
Rolling Green
Sven Sungaard.
Name a running joke about the State Fair: Something about "on a stick"?
Paul Douglas (Magers?) left his station to go to Chicago? Not sure.
A casserole is called a HOT DISH_
Name 3 really, REALLY, REALLY common Nordic last names here: Thompson, Swenson, Nelson, Johnson, Larson........
Eta: My Summit and Rolling answers count too! Rolling Green is in Edina and Summit Avenue is in St. Paul. Both areas with crazy big houses. :-)
kizmet, your answers are great! Also, I have at least a couple of friends with EACH of the last names you mentioned!
Oooh, Paul Douglas was a good one, too. Remember Pat Miles or is that before your time? She had something seriously wrong with her eyesight, I think she was losing it. (TV news anchorwoman) She was from Missouri or somewhere and I remember she used to pronounce the weather guy's name "Kin" instead of "Ken".
Rolling Green in Edina - is that by the golf course over near Vernon? I used to pass something that sounds like that on my work commute (I am a SAHM now.)
Where in the world would they squeeze a dog park in down by Calhoun?
ETA: Dang! I looked it up and there is one near Lake of the Isles but just north of Lake Street on the North end of Calhoun (but technically Lake of the Isles).

Ooh, I was thinking about Ron Magers. He was co-anchors with Cindy Brucato (sp?). I believe he ended up in Chicago, too. Remember him?

I do remember Ron Magers, though not as well. I think I was a young teen when Cyndy Brucato was on. My brother used to always tease about Cyndy's name because it was the first time we had seen the alternate spelling of the Y first instead of the I. Now I feel compelled to double-check that spelling, though. (wikipedia shows it as Cyndy Brucato. It says she is 62 now.)
Do you remember Ken Barlow? AKA "Kin" to Pat Miles? Dave Moore? My mom LOVED Dave Moore.
