I remember our first road trip GTG I drove HZ and Bimbi to Indiana - our husbands were like WTF. But we had met once before, so not so sketch at that point.
Sent from my Moto X using Proboards.
LOL! Yes. My H was certain he would never see me again. Meanwhile, fashion was driving us around bumblefuck Indiana and we were making jokes about how there WAS NO OUTLETS and she was really out to harm us. We all laughed and had a blast shopping .
I can see that getting messy and boring. And I would be way more inclined to be like "NOPE! You annoy me so you don't get access!" No bueno lol.
Yeah, my wedding club board was a hot mess. There were a handful of great ladies, the rest were just snarky. Plus they sort of hated me. So much that they made a poll to ask if people even liked me. DRAMA.
I'm so glad I no longer participate. Spiteful hateful females aren't my type. (I feel like this might draw them in and they'll start some ish. But it's Friday, whatevs)
My FI was a little WTF-y when I told him I was meeting mrspost08 for lunch dates during the day when he found out we met on a message board LOL He was all judgy about me meeting up with an internet friend haha

DH still calls my internet friends "my internet minions". back when i was on TK i'd tell him all these ideas they came up with and recs they gave me...i found my photog that was, from atlanta.
]Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Who could ever not like you?
That's crazy talk. Their loss!
I'm much tamer now. haha. I get feisty and have a low bullshit tolerance. So, I never really backed down from their fights. They were frequent. Mostly just personality conflicts and bitchiness.
We got into a lot of racial issue fights as well. (That's my CEP side). I never back down from those. It's a personal subject and I have no tolerance whatsoever.
@natariru - We shopped together. Should we show him our corresponding receipts? haha.
Eh- I don't blame you in that case. I'm sure I may have pissed some people off on the SO board recently when I *chimed* in on a thread about Middle-Eastern stereotypes. I'm half Middle-Eastern and have a low tolerance policy for ignorance. So I feel you. I'm normally an 'to each their own' in terms of opinions, but I get pretty fiesty about sensitive issues that are personal to me- especially when spoken by people who are clueless about what they are saying.
Hold up - hating @smorriso? How is that possible? I've "known" Smo for some time now...even met her in person back in my TK days at a GTG - we crafted together, it was a beautiful first encounter, lol.

Does not compute.
i mean, i WANT to hate her because she's pretty and stylish and awesome...but i cannot

haha.
I learned to brush a lot off my shoulders. The drama was just SO exhausting. bimbi284, I'm surprised you don't recall TK local drama too. I was very opinionated and didn't hold back in the early days. I'm no saint, y'all. Please don't assume that I'm trying to be.
Again, I feel like "I hate Smo" folks are going to come back in this thread and I'm going to look like I'm trying to play martyr. I'm not saying I didn't contribute. I sure the hell did. haha. I normally wouldn't start stuff, but I also wouldn't stay quiet a few times when I should have just STFU.
I've learned to stay away from boards I don't like, and posters that I will NEVER get along with.
Oh I remember drama for sure, I just thought it was lame mostly. I can't recall if or how much I ever contributed to it, though (hopefully I never did contribute to smo hate, and IF I did, I was stupid and I'm sorry!). I know there was weird stuff about people "soliciting" or "advertising" their own businesses, work, etc, and people getting pissy about that. I know you're opinionated, and that's part of why I like you around here!

I am with blonde and tired of being newbie even though I do not post much, I feel like my posts should be way over the 200 that I have!! I have been around since the Knot days as well and I think she can also vouch for me as I buy stuff from her!! In fact I met some really awesome friends on the pet board before the transition to this one and we still meet up and talk daily!! I love this board and the H knows all about my internet friends!!

I met some of my best girlfriends off my local board on TK. We had a GTG every month and several months in a row there were 15+ ladies that went. Some of them were pretty snarky though... one girl counted how many glasses of wine I had at one of the dinners. My now best friend, was the girl at the other end of the table, that ordered a bottle of wine for herself at that same dinner LOL

Nahh. I never remembered you contributing. It was all lame. I am glad it's over.
There was such a divide on the MN local board. It was dumb. I thought it had all passed, and one of the posters who probably hated me the most saw a cross board post from a CEP topic. She was so mean. Her board was a bump type board, and she was like "SMo, please don't tell me you're procreating" or something like that. I was like, welp some people never change. It was an assy thing to say.

Assy?! More like cunty.
YEAH I SAID IT!
@natariru without fail, at some point almost every day, you cause me to giggle-snort.
I keep randomly getting that creepy guy gif popping into my head and I fall into one of those ugly laughs that makes your stomach muscles hurt. It'll NEVER not be funny!
