I made a cake! (Update, made it into a whole theme!) AW

For H's birthday! 

ETA: it's blue velvet cake (aka vanilla cake dyed blue) with vanilla buttercream! I'm hoping he's surprised by the blue!

UPDATE!: 

I made into a whole theme! I'm quite proud of myself seeing as I got all the decor and made it home to decorate with a 1yr old in less than an hour! I tried to get tickets to a game but the weekend we can go they have an away game! I did get him a Tigers t-shirt, I wanted to get Em and myself one too and wear them, but DAMN they're expensive! 

hisno1girl - I think you'll really like this theme!

It's blue velvet! aka vanilla dyed blue. Vanilla frosting. He's kinda an plain guy when it comes to cake flavors!

Is it a tried and true vanilla cake recipe? I am planning to make a cake for this weekend but the jlm business took priority over recipe searching (I usually stick to cupcakes). Care to share?

I used a mix   I didn't have time to make one from scratch. My mom's coming on Saturday so I've been cleaning.

Awesome! When I made blue velvet, I made the standard red velvet cake amnd used blue dye instead. I bet it looks better with the vanilla!

It's super small, about 6 inches! I zoomed in so you couldn't see my stove in the picture as much! 

But yes, it does look ginormous!

OMG this is awesome...because we're giving some to my one year old! So SHE will have green shits! And my mom is babysitting her tomorrow and will get the green poop diaper and will FREAK OUT! This should be pretty great!
