I leave mine in their dust bags as well and store them across the top shelf of my closet. The cross bodies are stored in there as well.
Sometimes I have my mind set on a specific style or color I'm looking for usually inspired by something I've seen that I like and I either look for that or it inspires me for something similar in color, shape or style.
I have purchased bags that I've come across and loved. Bonus points if it's on sale
You know who you are, lol. How often do you buy a new bag? Where/how do you store your bags? Do you get rid of them occasionally?
I wait for KS surprise sale (usually up to 75% off) to see if I want something from there. I got one bag on that sale. The next surprise sale I bought accessories for Christmas gifts. The most recent new handbag I got was from NM Last Call, also on sale when they offered extra % off.
Storage: in the dust bags provided.
Getting rid? Just the non designer ones that either gets worn out of torn or damaged. Or if I see I don't use them at all. I got an orange patent faux leather bag for Xmas 2 yrs ago and never used it so donated it this year.
I buy/receive a new bag once or twice a year. I like to spend a pretty penny on bags so when I buy a new one it usually takes me a bit to decide on the one I want. I store them in the closet, in their dust bags. I have only sold one bag in the past few years and it was a LV crossbody because I never wear them and so I thought it was a stupid choice for a bag.
Most of my bags were bought on sale. The only ones I didn't get on sale were my LV's. The last one I bought the day before they were supposed to do a price increase.
I usually get them as birthday or Christmas gifts, it's easy for my husband and my mom has great taste in bags. I usually give them some direction or my husband's case I send him pictures and stores. One year, he went into Coach and said I need this and showed them the picture. When I went in a week later to get a dust bag, they remembered him (they had to locate it).
As for storage, I keep them in their dust bags in my closet.

Dust bags in my closet.I hate my closet setup for clothing but it actually has great shelving for shoes & handbags. Can't wait to find a new house with a gigantic walk-in. We're looking for a 3 bdrm but DH said that if we find a 4 bedroom that we like I can turn a bedroom into a closet:D I buy maybe 1 new bag a year. The only bags I've gotten rid of were cheap gifts from my SIL that I never used.

I usually buy when I see a good sale. Last year I bought five Rebecca Minkoffs, which is kind of nuts, and I'll probably buy maybe 2 handbags a year now. I put them on the top shelf of my closet and don't store in dust bags.
I get rid of some bags every year. I sold a few Kate Spade and Coach bags at at a garage sale last year. I imagine that ebay would have brought me higher selling prices.
Not often. I'll buy a "fun" bag maybe once a year (something from J.Crew, or a fun color, etc.). I only have two or three nice bags and they were purchased several years apart. I've found that my nice bags last for years. I purchased my YSL Downtown back in 08 or 09, and used it nearly every day until I got my Marc Jacobs bag a few months ago. It still looks great. I have several Coach bags and other less expensive brands from years and years ago, but I haven't used them in forever. I've found that when I find that perfect bag, I want to use it forever, so I don't often get sick of bags.

I have so many that I never use, I really should dump a few. I only buy new ones every few years nowadays, but in the late 1990s - early 2000s it was several per year. As hard as I am on bags, they just don't wear out easily. The dustbags clutter the hell out of my closets. Some had to go into the basement... just too many. I have sold only ONE. I have given away a couple NWT ones (not branded) to friends/fam/charity. I am not generally a sentimental person or a hoarder, but with my bags, it is different! Every time I think about getting RID of one, I don't go through with it.
Over the past few years I've bought way too many, but I do try to get them on sale if I can. I keep mine in their dust bags in my closet. I recently sold 3 bags on ebay though and I plan to try and do that more often.
It's really weird bc I worked in footwear for 10 yrs yet my first love is BAGS! I store them in dustbags and it comes in waves, I will sometimes buy one or 2 close together and then months will pass before I get something new. I love high end bags but I will get some cheaper ones too. I don't discriminate.
I have quite a few. I store them in a rubbermade in my closet. I buy a new one every few months when I see them on sale. I have bought quite a few off Poshmark the last year and have sold them as well.
I think I have sold like 20 bags in the past year including Kate Spade, MK, and coach. I have a few more to sell.
I just love them so much and use them for a short time and decide I don't like them and want something new.
I usually want a new one when I see a great sale or I see someone has it and I have to have it too.
I hardly ever buy new bags anymore, maybe once a year? I used to buy ones I liked as they caught my eye, but it seems like nothing catches my eye anymore. Mine are also stuffed with tissue and in their dust bags on a shelf in my closet. I could definitely stand to get rid of some.
I haven't bought a new bag in over a year, almost two years. That must mean I'm due. Lol! But, H did buy me 3 bags while we were in Paris on vacation (Fall 2012).
I usually sell or donate bags I'm no longer wearing and interesting in. I've sold old Coach & Kenneth Cole bags on Poshmark or I've given them away.
I store most of my bags in their dust bag. But my a few of my cross body bags are hanging on the back of my bedroom door along with my costume jewelry.
I buy them when I get sick of the one I am carrying or I see one I love. I have a big bin on the top of my closet that I keep them all in. I tend to carry a bag for a few months until I get sick of it.
I sell them at garage sales when I am really sick of them and have no plans to ever use them again.
I usually buy one for fall/winter and one for spring/summer and spend up to $500 per bag. There's a local store named "Just Bag It" that is my poison, I only go in when I can afford a new bag because I always fall in love with several.
Last spring I bought an Amee Kestenberg from them before I realized she sells on QVC. I was so disappointed to find that out and kind of embarrassed to carry it at first. It is actually one of my favorite bags now and is in such good condition I decided to not buy a new bag until fall this year. Shocking!
I keep mine in their dust bags in a big rubbermaid tote.
