PB AND a bigger playground! Sign me up!
My mom has been in town so I missed the entire shit show. Holy crap.
Meanwhile, the woman who freaked out when she found pot in my car in college asked if weed was legal here and if we could get her a sucker. Lol. Nope, that's WA but we did tell her we could still get her one. She declined for now.
So many are living in food insecurity in the US, I'm glad when schools provide breakfast programs.
Mine: I just told a friend of mine that her kid was precious. Admittedly, she he just listed a very sweet shot if her and her baby. And now I fear that she thinks I'm calling her child ugly, because evidently precious means underhanded fug.
So Finley didn't get into the school you were hoping for? I'm sorry, that really blows. Luckily she seems to be happy about the way things turned out. I hope she has a great teacher and ends up loving school.

I've been on a roll with sewing the past couple of weeks. I still have 348932348 blankets and baby gifts to get done, but it's been nice to see projects rolling off the machine at a faster clip recently.

You're in TX right pagas? If more than 80% of the campus is eligible for free or reduced lunch, then the school can provide free breakfast for all students with federal funding. I know DD had that last year as well.
Moving across country is hard, especially when we have no final destination. I really want to enjoy this journey. H and I usually have so much fun together, but our anxiety levels are too high to actually appreciate this right now. I'm trying to remain positive though
I feel like I've done nothing but go for the last two weeks. This is the first time I've been here since 7:30 this morning. I'm tired. And now it sounds like H will be going to Atlanta for 3 months....not gonna lie, the thought of him being gone for the whole summer kind of makes me want to cry. I'm tired of being a single mom. I'm just tired.

She is waitlisted. From best I can tell, if she gets in, it will be the end of May. The admissions director said they only had spaces for siblings for Kinder. I am hopeful she will get in, but we are preparing ourselves if it doesn't work out.
I'm super excited for breakfast tomorrow because my husbands bringing fresh eggs home from his parents house. They have like 6 chickens who have been producing eggs like crazy lately.

My throat hurts. Bad. It's the absolute worst.
My former district offered free breakfast for all students in the district, even the schools that weren't Title 1. Based on what I've heard from teacher friends in other surrounding districts, it's pretty common for districts to offer it now even if a campus doesn't qualify federally.
ETA: Breakfast was always a total clusterfuck at my old school bc it was before the staffs contract times so we had to take turns watching the kids. If she wants to eat breakfast at school, I'd make it a point to walk her to the cafeteria and check things out periodically to make sure it's not crazy town down there.
I registered Finley for Kindergarten today. She said she prefers this school (public) because the playground is bigger and they allow peanut butter. Easy to please!
And what is up with free breakfast for all the kids? I think that is really strange, but I don't want her to feel left out if all the other kids are eating breakfast at school.
I am transferring my DD into the district where I work for the good public schools but had to register at my home school as back-up. She thought the gross, poorly rated school we feed into was so awesome because she could see the playground.
Uhh, no, trust that the fancier public schools a few miles away are much better. Kids are so funny by what excites them.
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
Tonight I juiced a ton more lemons, made 3 pecan pies, a pan of lemon bars, stickers for my moonshine, assembled favor bags, applied a dry rub to pork shoulders, and cleaned out the fridge. I have so much to do tomorrow and Saturday. Every time I talk to my H about what needs to be done, he says, "You know, a taco truck would have been easier," and I'm beginning to see his side. LOL.
Is the free breakfast part of a Free and Reduced Lunch Program?
My random, I finally made a LinkedIn account. I found a LinkedIn request someone sent me in 2008. Oops!
I am guessing so, they all mentioned the free and reduced lunch, but breakfast is free for everyone.
It's to encourage kids that need it to eat it. When it is only available for kids who qualify they don't eat it because they don't want to be labeled as poor, then they go hungry and can't learn. By giving it to everyone there are no labels around it.
David starts kindergarten next year and apparently, breakfast is only $1 a day. If it's fairly healthy, I wll TOTALLY pay $5/week to take care of one of his meals. Hell yes.

Your kid is so handsome in that suit! Sorry, I'm almost always on mobile and rarely see sigs
And, not to be creepy, lol, I thought of you the other day. I'm looking for clothes for my boys and noticed Hanna Andersson has a bunch of Star Wars pj's. I know the price is steep but I still wanted to mention it to you!

Awww, that's so sweet of you to think of him. I love that! I'll check out those pajamas! David does still love SW. Thank you!
