I had a great walk with the dog this morning. We went on one of the trails around the pond near our house. We saw deer, geese nesting and a beaver.
I am hoping I have an amazing attitude adjustment between now and Easter Sunday. I'm having a hard time faking my irritation with some people lately. I'm just tired of the 'poor me' crap. We all make choices on money, jobs etc. My H and I have worked hard for what we have and I'm tired of the judgement and the 'well you don't know how hard it is...." Thank God, we'll have plenty of wine.
T-minus 3 hours until we leave to go outlet shopping. I can't wait. I need so much stuff.
Waiting to board a flight now. Why do people love to queue up so much? Boarding groups 1,2,and3 lines are long and we aren't even boarding for another 20-30 minutes! Is standing in line THAT much fun?
I (maybe) get it if you are poor soul in group 4,5, etc...but 1 and 2....so odd.
My boss/ manager have decided that none of us can use our comp time for the next few months. I think they're trying to prove to upper management that we need additional staff (which is true). But they haven't shared this strategy with us, just said no more comp time. We can accrue it, or take it as overtime pay, I'm not certain that's legal within the bounds of our union contract.
Also, I asked to take a week and a half off covering the last weekend in June and the 4th of July. It's to help out with my sister's wedding and spend the 4 th of July at the lake. They haven't approved it and "may not, because it's a long time." (6 work days + the 4th o July).
I've been looking for a hill to die on/ a justifiable reason to quit, and that may be it for me.

I would always rather be the last one onto the flight. Why be stuck in the planet or a minute longer than necessary?
@shoegal - I line up so that I can ensure my luggage is in my overhead and because I am in the window seat (usually). I HATE to climb over people, so I want to be in my seat and then let people fill in after me.
It's been a week since I got my first two fillings (and then three more on Wednesday AM) and I am still have some discomfort. Sigh. I just want to get back to normal.
This is really silly, but I am so sick of these dang preview days for admitted students. They've happened every Friday in April, and I can never remember to get here early enough to beat the traffic. Today I ended up begging the mail center staff to let me park there so I didn't spend all day driving around campus looking for a parking spot. Let's hope my car is still there tonight!
And when I walked onto campus, the admissions person stationed there said, "are you here for the preview day?" I was kind of annoyed at that point, but I tried not to be too rude. I said, "no, I teach here" and kept walking.
This is bewildering to me. Unlike the majority of MMers who still get carded to see R-rated movies (LOL), there's exactly zero chance that I look like I'm 18. So I guess I look like an 18-year-old's mother? :-#

I get SO ANNOYED with people crowding the gate at the airport. WHY ARE YOU SO EXCITED TO SIT ON THE DAMN PLANE?

Do you usually climb over people? I am an aisle person, usually I get up when someone has arrived next to me. I only climb over in First or Business when there's tons of room and its more like walking past someone.
Also (seeing as this is a Randoms thread), did no one bring up instant coffee in the k-cup thread? Or was that massive thread on cpe? Because the little Starbucks packets (discounted at Costco right now!!!) are pretty bad ass.
Just got on plane and have a large passenger next to me. He hit me I'm the face with his butt when he was getting his seatbelt on. The glamour of air travel!

Do people not move for you if you need to get to your seat? They always go into the aisle when I point out my seat in that situation. Not moving seems really rude to me. It's not like there's a ton of room to get by in.
My random (and bragplaint) is we went on a spending freeze but I lost some weight recently and I'm slowly realizing most of my spring/summer clothes are too big and look ridiculous. I'm hoping I can get by for the next month or so but I sense a lot of outfit repeats in my future.
H was mad because I came home "late" last night after going out to dinner and shopping with friends. I got home a little after 10. I think he was just bored because our internet was still down and there was nothing good on TV.
I am currently sitting in a hotel room that has a bedroom, a living room, a bathroom with double sinks, and in-room laundry. Oh, and a back patio, complete with patio furniture.
My new Sperrys (courtesy of the code posted by rubytue !) arrived yesterday and I'm in love.
Last night we went out to an $$ steakhouse with my parents for my mom's birthday. I had the most amazing filet medium rare filet mignon and baked stuffed shrimp. And flourless chocolate cake. Worth every single penny.
FI takes a vow of silence every Good Friday and I was just thinking about how he intends to get the dogs back in the house if he can't call them. I don't know if just gestures would work. Hmm.

You are my H. I prefer to get on asap because as long as I'm in the airport waiting, I still have to be alert and aware of what's going on with my flight. Once I'm on the plane, I can switch off and relax because it's not going anywhere without me. That said, I don't crowd the gate...I just push past all the crowders in group 5 when it's time for preferred boarding

My coworker just handed me a stainless steel All Clad frying pan. I was totally confused. Apparently she remembered a comment I made in passing months ago when I was at her house about liking the pan. She decided she wanted nonstick so she wasn't using it any more and gave it to me.
Weird way to start a Friday at an accounting firm - Here have a frying pan. LOL its awesome though.

This is my thinking as well. But last time I did this, I couldn't find any space in the overhead bin for my suitcase and I was standing in the aisle like an idiot until an attendant helped me.
Which is why I want to find a carry-on that fits under the seat. I HATE having to find an overhead bin.
I have a money-related one. H and his business partner started a company a few years ago and, as the owners, there have been times that they've reduced their own pay temporarily to ensure cash flow (a lot of clients ignore 30- and 60-day due dates on bills). Well, not only are they now making a real, fixed salary, but they were also just able to back pay themselves for some of the previous reduced payments. I'm proud of them for being successful in this, and also excited because now I will be able to buy one of these:

Me too! Especially since I started flying with kids. The least amount of time I spend sitting on the plane listening to "Are we there yet?" the better.

I don't mind lines but what I hate, and it's very frequent in BA (maybe emilyinchile can tell us if it's the same in Santiago), is people who don't know how to queue. Here at eze people don't make lines but instead they just stand in the way and form a huge cluster of people at the gate, which delays the whole process. This doesn't happen only at airports, portenos can't be in a proper line even if their lives depended on it!

Change every reference to BA/porteños in @bunnymom's post to everywhere in Latin America, and I will agree with it Lines are not really anyone in this region's strong suit. I differentiate between over-eager liner-uppers and crowders - I don't care if people want to line up early in their designated lines, but the people who stand directly in front of the gate just blocking everyone's access deserve to be run over by roller bags.

But there is no line for Zone 2 (Delta terminology--I don't know how other airlines handle boarding) when they are boarding First Class. So the overeager Zone 2 people are just standing around, crowding the gate.
