Hi guys! I'm back! I'm working on pics...we just got them a day or two ago, so they're not even on FB yet!
The wedding went really well! There was a minor bit of drama where my aunt got us toasting flutes that she apparently wanted us to use at the wedding, but I didn't realize that and left them at home, and she got all butthurt about it ("How could you not know?!?!?!"), and even though I apologized sincerely at the wedding as soon as I found out that she was upset, she hasn't spoken to me since. That was it, though, which is good. The highlight of the reception was when our dance instructor taught everyone the Virginia Reel--90% of the people were on the dance floor, and everyone was laughing and smiling and having a blast! The food and booze were also big hits--we featured all local beers/wines and a lot of locally-sourced food.
Honeymoon was fantastic. We went to the South Pacific. Started on Fakarava, a virtually uninhabited island. We were at a "pension", which is kind of like a B&B, and there was only 1 other couple there, so we had lots of privacy. We did a bunch of dives there--Fakarava is known for diving with sharks. There were literally hundreds of sharks just a few feet from us! It was really cool. We were there for 5 nights. Next, we went to Tahiti for one night--mainly because of the timing of flights. We then took the ferry to Moorea, which is the island where both versions of Mutiny on the Bounty were filmed and where the mutiny on the Bounty actually occurred! We were there for 4 nights...did some more dives (nothing too exciting here) and a 4WD tour of the island where we got to visit the agriculture school and a pineapple plantation. They're doing some really cool things with sustainable agriculture (using algae from the reef as fertilizer, for example). The pineapples here are so good--much smaller, sweeter, and juicier than the species that we get in the states. Finally, we ended with 4 nights on Bora Bora. We were in a overwater bungalow--pretty much the coolest thing ever. There was a glass coffee table in our room where you could look through it and see the lagoon below! We did another 4WD tour here where we got to see some cannon left there by the US troops who were on the island in WWII, which was really cool for me personally, since my grandpa was stationed there during WWII. The plane we arrived on landed on the airstrip that he helped to build! We did some dives here, too--saw a few different kinds of rays and some moray eels and more sharks. Also did a thing where we got to help feed stingrays and sharks (while in the water with them!), which was very neat. We stopped in LA for a night on our way back and got to spend some time with my cousin's family, which was nice. And now it's back to reality. Boo!

Ok, picture time! Limited time only, for the face pics. Please don't quote.
Decor stuff
Corsage and bouts that I made, fans that a friend made:
Overview of the reception room/decor...the uplighting was more intense IRL:
Closeup of the place setting (I made the cookies!):
Some of our dessert spread. We didn't have a traditional wedding cake. From left to right, you can just barely see the edge of the chipotle vanilla mousse cups (my fave!), thai basil creme brulee, chocolate-covered bacon, and mascarpone mousse cups with balsamic reduction:

First, congrats to you and DH!!
Second, I am in awe of your honeymoon especially considering the sentimental aspect involving your grandfather who served in WWII. Might be the coolest honeymoon I have ever heard of.
Scooby - congratulations!! You looked stunning and you both look so happy. Was the pic at night in old town Cville? Gorgeous.
Thanks! Yup, it was on the downtown mall in C'ville. We got married at the Omni hotel there. I was so happy to be able to get some pictures on the mall...it's my favorite part of C'ville.

So sad i missed the photos of you and your H, but the rest of it looked AMAZING! I loved all the feather detail. I showed the chocolate covered bacon to FF and he goes "Um, why didn't we think of that?!" He loves bacon.

I recognized it too. It's a really nice shot of it. That's a fun area.

Thank you, all! @soudesafinado, dress pic:
ETA: prettyinpearls, everyone was skeptical of the chocolate-covered bacon, but most people loved it! The chef at the Omni was super creative on the desserts!
