So, I have been having pain again while pumping/feeding c, noticed a small a milk blister a couple of days ago, nothing major. My first pump today, I got blood, not a little bit, a lot! I'm waiting to try and squeeze into my ob's schedule now. Any help, advice? I don't want to stop bfing since I have made it this long (almost 10 months) but it seems to be one thing after another.
Yikes! Do you have any cuts on your nipples? Is the blister open?
Caramini bit my nipple pretty hard and even after it stopped bleeding when I was just walking around, pumping always opened it up and I had blood in my milk for about a week. I had to pump and dump the bit side for 8 days, I think.
Definitely go and see your doc! And have a drink, mama. That sounds rough.

I'm in a room waiting to be seen, I don't see any cuts, the blister was on the top side of my nipple, and the blood appeared to be coming from the bottom but it's hard to tell while pumping. It looks more purple looking but other wise normal. I'm definitely having a drink tonight!

You poor thing! That looks painful :-(
I feel like I've read that you don't need to not give the milk to the baby, even if there's blood in it. But I'd definitely get confirmation of that somewhere else. That's some pretty pink milk

Please update when you know. My ob told me (in my case) that it was due to nipple trauma and the blood wouldn't hurt the baby, but I never had that much blood --- of course I never had that much output either. I'm so sorry.

One more thing -- this will be gross - but, if you refrigerate the milk, the blood and the milk will separate, not like in layers, but in a way that you will be able to see how much of it is actually blood. It always looks a lot worse when the blood is fully mixed with the milk. Anyway, it's hard to explain, but that may help you see if it's really as bad as it looks, or if you think it's not quite so bad and may help you decide if you want to give it to your baby.

I hope your doctor can help you!
I read that too. I once get blood in my milk and didn't dump but but wasnt nearly that much.

yep-all of this.
it'll separate out for the most part, and you can scoop out the bloodiest portions. unfortunately BTDT.

He said I have thrush again
This is not what it felt like last time and c has zero symptoms!! I guess I had a blood blister on the bottom of nipple that I couldn't see. I have a freezer stash, so I'm not worried about dumping it, that is too much blood to give him in my opinion!
Off to wash everything in vinegar and sanitize all parts!

I'm so sorry. That was the answer I was afraid that it would be. I don't know if this will work for you, but I started to watch the bottles when I was pumping, rather than doing something else absent-mindedly, only to look down when I was down to see a bottle of bloody milk. If I saw blood (for me it was always towards the beginning of pumping), I'd stop, unhook, clean everything and start again. The second time there would always be way less blood or no blood at all. Hugs. That really sucks.
