I don't do flax or chia anymore because they don't get ground up enough (I just have a cheapie blender). My go to is mango, a few strawberries, 1/2 banana, spinach and almond or soy milk. I also love kale and pineapple. And to echo PP above - definitely try PB2, it's soooo good! You can order it online, but my Target carries it.
I was able to get ground flax at a grocery store. I put that in with kale and some fruits. I think I added almonds and protein powder. It's been awhile.
Spinach or kale, lots of frozen berries ( raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are my favorite), flaxseed, chia seeds ( one or the other), almond milk, pb2, lots and lots of bananas.
My favorite smoothie recipe is: 1 banana 1 cup frozen berries (I like mixed berry blend or just plain strawberries) 1/4 cup plain yogurt 1/4 cup orange juice 1 tbs ground flax seed (I buy it already ground from the grocery store)
I cram this all in my NutriBullet wannabe (Cuisinart knockoff)

1 cup unsweetened coconut almond milk I banana A handful of frozen pineapple Half an orange Frozen berries if I have them Spinach and/ or Kale A little agave because I have a sweet tooth Vanilla protein powder if I worked out that day.
I first put in whatever greens we have- typically kale or spinach. Beet greens are surprisingly good. Arugula was too flavorful. Parsley was refreshing. Then I add some water and liquify. Then I put in half a banana and half an avacado. Then blend. The avacado thickens it up nicely. Then I add a cup or two of frozen berries. I've recently been adding a few chunks of frozen pineapple. That helps keep the avacado from turning brown if we have leftovers.
I do: Half cup whole fat, plain yogurt 1/4 cup coconut milk -- the thick stuff from the can Banana Frozen strawberries Tablespoon of almond butter Unsweetened protein powder--usually half a scoop Ground flax
Obviously, I like my fats. This keeps me completely satisfied until lunch.
Their overuse of the phrase rawk star (ok, not even "overuse", just the use in general!) is incredibly annoying, but they have a ton of smoothie recipes.

I go for quick and easy. Protein powder, skim milk, wegmans super yogurt and frozen blueberries. Some days I add pb and/or banana. Some days its just protein powder and milk. ...sent from my Jedi Mind.
Spinach or kale, frozen strawberries or bananas, rolled oats, chia seed, ground flax meal, orange juice and almond milk.
do you make yours ahead when you use rolled oats? I used to make mine with rolled oats that I ground up into powder, but I made them ahead (like added the liquid to the oats and finished the rest in the AM). I stopped because they started to give me heartburn, but I'd really like to get back to them.
ETA: PB2 is the shit!
ETA2: For those of you who use protein, I quit using powdered protein after my workout because it made my stomach hurt, so if I'm adding protein, I use egg whites (the carton kind, but I know people who use regular eggs).

My "regular" smoothie is 1 cup regular or vanilla almond milk (30 cal type) 1 cup frozen 3 berry blend 1 scoop Plant Fusion Protein Powder 1 tsp fiber (yum!)
My "splurge" smoothie is 1 cup dark chocolate almond milk 1 banana 1 scoop Plant Fusion 1 tbsp Peanut Butter or Almond Butter
I put in Greek yogurt. Usually 2% fat, but full fat if I can find it (I usually can't). I can never remember which fruits and vegetables have nutrients that need fat to be absorbed well, so I always make sure to add some fat.
My usual recipe is: 1 cup plain Greek yogurt 2 cups frozen berries 1 cup juice (usually grape, but sometimes orange) If I have any pineapple I'll throw that in too. If I can only find skim yogurt, I add some peanut butter.
I usually drink half of the smoothie for breakfast and half for a snack.
I have a cheap sunbeam blender, so I haven't tried green smoothies yet. I'm not sure my blender could blend them.
Has anyone made green smoothies in a cheap blender? I can't eat too many whole vegetables or fruits without getting sick, but I handle smoothies better.

I make a lot of breakfast flavors like apple cinnamon, brown sugar maple syrup, banana bread , mixed berry etc. Add in milk and oats and chia seeds and syrup or honey to taste!! A bunch of spinach will change the color but not the taste.
I used to make one with dates and it was SO GOOD. Now I have to go and find the "recipe".
