Here they are! In the top pic, from left to right: Camilla, Bellina, and Agatha. They are so cute. This also proves yet again that H and I share a brain: we had agreed on the names beforehand, but didn't know what the chickens would look like. When I picked them up, I looked at them and instantly knew which was which. When H got home, I told him I had decided who was who, and he took one look at them and pointed to each one by name, without my saying a word.
Cute! I missed why you got chickens? Not that you need a reason. Just not typical lol I love their names.
LOL, we didn't really have a reason. A friend had a bunch that were hatching, and she knew they weren't planning to keep all of them. H and I both really like eggs, and thought it would be fun. POOF! Chickens!

The dog is really freaking out because he's not allowed in the room with the chickens. We let him in once to sniff around and see what's what, and he barely gave them a second glance. But if one of us goes in there and he's locked out, he goes NUTS. I think he'll do better once they're big enough to be outside.
When I was in college my sister got a duck. I brought my cat home one weekend and he got to meet the teeny tiny duckling who kept pecking at his whiskers. He was not pleased. When I came home again a few months later the cat was ready for some duck meat. He went looking for him and this huge white duck that was bigger than my cat came waddling around the corner. I wish I had recorded it the cats reaction was priceless.
Your chickens have awesome names! How long until they start laying eggs?

Lol that's hysterical!
It'll be a few months before they start laying. They're only about 4 weeks old right now.

So true! DH and I had 6 chickens, and that was waaaayyyyy too many eggs for the 2 of us. We ended up giving away dozens more than we ate.
ETA: We didn't name our chickens, though. I couldn't tell them apart.
I don't think all of ours have names...let's see: Ruby, Jade, Opal Ann, Calliope, Esmeralda, Hearty Farty, Attack Chicken, Owl Eyes. I think that's all. The rest are interchangeable. Haha.
