We are thinking of moving our 2yo DS (28m, not yet potty trained) out of his crib so that our 6m DS can have the crib (was in RNP, now poor guy has been sleeping in PNP). 2yo will move to what has been our guest room with a queen bed. (We plan to buy bunks for the boys to share a room in a few years, so not wanting to purchase new furniture.) Besides buying bed rails and new boyish linens, what else is needed for a toddler room? Any particular lighting? I think I've heard of some gizmo that shows them when its an OK time to get out of bed. What is that called? Any feedback about it? Any other lifesavers when you transitioned to a big bed? And what might we forget to do in terms of safety? Thanks!
We just switched her to a full bed and got bedding, no rails (there's no boxspring so very low), a camera that can pan the room, and we shut the door (she can't open it). That's it!
I do have the Ok to Wake clock saved in my amazon basket but I'm not sure it would deter her from yelling for us at this point. She doesn't get up until 7 so I'm not complaining.
Ditto anchoring all the furniture. I'd put covers on all the outlets so LO can't unplug the monitor, lights, etc. No hanging cords LO could get tangled in, like from blinds.
