When I was a kid, eggs were hidden but baskets were on the couch. H's baskets were hidden. This is DS's first Easter so we definitely won't hide the basket this year and I will campaign to not hide it in the future. I'm no fun.

So much weirdness in here.
As a kid, ours were hidden. And we had multiple baskets, but they each only had a few things in them... hardboiled egg, a few pieces of candy, maybe some little treat like a lip balm or some silly little shaped kids soap from Avon.
My kid gets one basket, and it's on the kitchen table. We hide eggs all over outside and he gets to hunt for them.

Ours were always hidden, and we plan to hide our kid's when she's old enough to get it. We just got candy and a couple of small toys, though (think sidewalk chalk, bubbles, maaaaybe a small stuffed animal). It was always a blast - we also didn't do egg hunts, though, so maybe we were weird. I dunno.
I do. My mom did it one year of my childhood and I LOVED it but she never did it again. I laid out a trail of Easter eggs for my 3YO to follow this morning, too, and he was so excited I'll probably end up being one of those moms who do baskets into his 20s, LOL. I just enjoy holidays 100 percent more seeing them through his eyes.
My parents always hid our baskets. It wasn't a good Easter for @stalkermom unless one of us was frantic to find our basket before we left for church. One year she left a case of soda cans on the counter for 2 weeks ahead of Easter, then the night before, emptied the cans out and hid my basket inside the case.
No, but we don't have a lot of room to hide them that the dog wouldn't get to. I'd love to hide it outside, but I can't because...snow.
We never hid the baskets, but I don't hide eggs anymore because of the dog. Well, that and the kids are in HS now. But they'd still look for them if I hid them.

She's the evil genius of basket hiding.
Does your mom post on GBCN? Or am I reading this wrong?

Never hidden it. I tend to forget since she's always been a night owl and scramble to put it in the dining room or some other room she doesn't frequent. Now I just throw it all in the basket and take it into her bedroom in the morning.
We didn't this year (DS is 2), but we always went to Florida to my Nana's house for Easter, and her and my grandfather hid our baskets. It was SO MUCH FUN! They would leave a scavenger hunt for us to follow to find our baskets. A few places I remember them being hidden: inside the dryer, underneath the car, by the palm tree on the deck, and in the crawl-in closet space.
It was my favorite part of Easter. Sometimes, they would make "bunny prints" out of stencils and sprinkled flour. OMG I am feeling excited thinking about it. We will definitely hide L's next year.

growing up ours were never hidden. they were on our bureaus when we woke up I LOVED getting up and seeing it there. DH said we must hide the baskets bc that is what he remembers. He has a pretty fucked up childhood so I went with it since it was a happy memory for me. but yeah, if it were up to me they'd be on their bureaus for them to see when they woke up
I had never heard of hiding baskets until i came on to this board. Ours were always sitting on the hearth next to the fire place, the same place santa put our stockings.
