I think there is something wrong with me because I didn't panic or even get scared when it happened, I just checked him over, made sure he could breathe and that his throat wasn't swelling, basically patted him on the head and sent him back to play. I started shaking as soon as he walked away from me and then thought of all the things that could have happened and totally lost my shit. And he didn't even cry! Well, not from the injury anyway. He blew a fucking fit when I told him no more trampoline.
Wow. I had one growing up. It's a miracle I never broke something. My kids have one now. Enclosed with spring and pole pads. They have still managed to tangle their fingers in the net. Fun but dangerous.
That must have been terrifying. I'm shuddering just looking at the pics. And Kidlet says "ooh, that has to hurt." Poor kiddo and poor mom. I hope he's okay.
We have one in our backyard that is enclosed with covered springs. I still hate it, but he only uses it supervised and I won't let him try to flip or anything like that. We were at someone else's house today, and it's a huge trampoline with exposed springs. I'm still not sure how he did it, H and I were standing there, someone called me and I turned, next thing I know H is on the trampoline pulling him loose. My back was turned for two seconds. H said he just tumbled into the perimeter. never again. Ours is coming down this weekend and he won't be allowed on anyone else's.

Poor baby. We've had them for years and the springs are covered and super close together and we have a net. We currently have the biggest one available to average consumers. The worst was the last net broke and dd fell off of it landing on her knee. That led us to finding out about scar tissue under her knee cap which was from in utero. The last one she and her cousin decided to put a kids swimming pool on and fill. It was about a foot off the ground before I stopped it and ordered them off. Not even 2 weeks later a spring flew off and we took that thing down

We don't have a trampoline but out home owners insurance specifically states that any injuries caused the use of a trampoline is not covered. IT must be a really common for kids to get hurt.
