So H and I live in an apt on the first floor. I normally don't worry too much as we have a large dog (85+lbs), the complex is gated (though the gates are often broken), and H spends a lot of time in the gym (and looks like it). That said our bedroom window is in the breeze way and all our other windows are in the living area that faces the parking lot. So not really super secure if someone wanted in. We don't have a lot of valuable items, really just our TV and computers. Things are usually quiet here aside from the random party thrown by one of the few college kids in the complex.
About an hour ago someone knocked on the door and the dog went crazy. We weren't expecting anyone, so H went to the door while I put the dog in a room. It was a guy and when H asked what was up the guy asked him "if he was the guy he was with at the store before"? Of course H said no and the guy left. He then proceeded to walk upstairs and ask our neighbors the same thing. After that he was walking around the parking lot looking up. Not sure if he was talking to someone on the balcony or looking in the windows.
At first it didn't really bother me much, but when H text the neighbor and found out he did the same thing to them, I now feel like it was really weird. We were clearly home since the lights and the TV are on and can be seen from the parking lot. We decided to call the on site courtesy officer to give them a heads up but was directed to a voice mail and have not gotten a call back.
Does this seem suspicious or am I worrying over nothing? If you vote suspicious, would you call the cops or just let it go since there is likely nothing they can do now that he is probably long gone (I hope).
