I was stunned last night to realize we are already nearly 10k into our family room. More than half that was flooring - (we needed some repair work on our subfloor and a shit load of high quality carpet that my kids will have a hard time destroying), but the sofa, cabinets and really expensive blinds we have committed to are not small investments.
The fact that we've had 12 paint swatches on the wall for months now without being able to decide on a color is starting to make me realize we need professional help to make this space look good. We just don't have a solid vision and The fact that this is turning out to be such an expensive endeavor makes me afraid to make big missteps. If spend all this money on this room and it still winds up looking like a train wreck - I'll be so sad. I want it to look fantastic!
I'm so excited to have someone who knows what she's doing come in to help me. I love her stuff and I've been following her blog for a while now. Yay!!
PS: I know you all think I'm nuts, but I'm going to offer her a bonus if she can find me a big white deer statue like that one in mrs.jacinthe 's photo. LMAO!
What are you having said professional do, out of curiosity?
She's going to come and tell me what to do. what color to paint, what curtains to buy, what do do with that fireplace, what to hang on my walls (the walls are really the scary thing for me- what do I do with 35 feet of windowless wall?), what other furniture to buy etc. I also want her guidance on lighting - we need to move overhead lighting around and add some sconces maybe, I need her to help me know what to do in that department. The electrician lighting dude basically suggested a runway of recessed lights down there. Barf.
