Have you ever walked out of a job interview with no idea how it went? That's how I feel right now. The interview was only 20 minutes long. They basically walked me through all of the job requirements, asked me if I thought I could do it, and then told me they were going to check my references and would call me if they wanted me back for a second interview. They didn't actually ask me any interview questions or anything. It didn't seem like they didn't like me or wanted me gone quickly for any reason, they just didn't have any questions to ask.
I hope it went well, but I have no idea. Which feels odd.

Weird. Maybe they like you and didn't want to waste time asking questions?
Some people are just bad interviewers or poor communicators in general. Hopefully if you go for a 2nd interview it's with someone a little more engaging!
Did you meet with HR verses the department you would actually be working in? Sounds like they need a little more interview training.
I typically phone screen before they come in for at least 15-20 minutes. THEN those who I select to move forward come in for an interview in person for 30-60 minutes.
That does sound very odd. Maybe they just feel confident in your abilities and didn't want to waste time. Is this the one you thought would be a great fit? Do you feel any differently after they expounded more?
The one I'm really hoping for was actually my second interview today, which was also a little odd in a very similar way. Maybe this is just a new way that interviews are being done? I did feel quite a bit better about the second interview, though. I still think the second job would be a great fit for me and I felt like I connected with the woman who interviewed me, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I had the phone interview with HR last week and this was my first in person interview with the direct supervisor. The woman I did my phone interview with did say that they got a lot of applicants, so I wonder if they're hurrying through the first round of in person interviews just to eliminate options or something.
