That sounds rough. I hate double unders. I cannot do them to save my life. Way to finish the WOD though!
My skills session today included handstand push-ups. I am wondering how long it will take to *really* be able to do one. I have improved significantly since starting to try them (at least the hand stand part and lowering down part are correct now), abut fall on my head and can't push back up lol.
That sounds like a tough one!! But congrats for finishing
I am terrified of today's WOD: 50 wall balls 50 sit ups 30 man makers (fuck my life) 30 wall balls 30 sit ups 20 man makers (fuck my life) 20 wall balls 20 sit ups 10 man makers (did I mention, fuck my life?)
I feel ya. I've been going since the beginning of January and yesterday's WOD about killed me. I had to use the official "Crossfit Recovery Position" (aka laid out on the floor) after it was done.
3 rounds (1 min per exercise-AMRAP): box jumps wall balls (14lb ball) Sumo Deadlift high pulls (rx-women 55lbs-i did 65) push presses (I did 55lbs) Double unders (or 60 singles-I can't do DU yet) 1 minute rest
It was also Foundations day and they were working out back. That was the ONLY thing that kept me from going outside and passing out.
My box refuses to post the WOD online because they don't want people wimping out.
@stpete that sounds like a great workout! I think you're pretty badass for already cleaning 75 lb, clearly you have a hell of a lot more strength than I did when I started (and umm, almost as much as I have now, after a year+ of Crossfit, but this is not about me and my pathetic-ness).
I am dealing with a stupid injured shoulder right now, so the actual WOD wasn't too hard because I couldn't really do it. We were supposed to do 21-15-9 pistols, HSPU and one-arm snatch with 50 mountain climbers and 50 jumping jacks between each round. I did the snatches with only 8 kg, and my shoulder just stopped working after like 7 HSPU so they became just handstands instead. But then I did 5 rounds of 2 rope climbs and 30 DUs, soooo I'm ready for my nap.
I didn't know either (nor did my other crossfit friends)--we had to google it. You start out doing a pushup with your hands on dumbbells. Then when you raise yourself from pushup position you lift one arm at a time, balancing all of your weight on the other arm (anchored to the dumbbell). Then from there you stand up and then to an overhead press. Then repeat. youtube it.

Haha, I mostly wanted to ask you vs. Googling because I wanted more personal details of how awful they are shauni27. I have now watched a video and see that they are basically horrible burpees on crack. Good luck!
Wow that's an intense workout. I'm hurting from Monday's which included a lot of burpees.
Yesterday's was this: 20 WB 40 pull up 20 WB 40 Box jumps 20 WB 40 Ring dips 20 WB 40 KBS 20WB I am soooo glad that was a rest day for me. Today's doesn't seem to harsh.
My box's focus is sprints and running so our skill has been revolving around that and it's killing me. I am not a runner, I am more of a barbell crossfitter.
Today we did 70% of our 1rep max in splitjerks and deadlifts 7 reps every minute on the minute for 10 min...we call it a mofo wod (not sure if all boxes call them mofos?)
I accidentally put 20 lbs more than I should have for the deadlifts.
I swear I need a weight fairy to properly load my bar....I do it wrong all the time :/
