- automating as much of our lives as possible. We may eat the same thing for dinner 3x a week, but it's easy and we're fed. I also pack lunches and breakfasts for us for the week on Sunday, and bought enough Tupperware containers to make this possible. It sounds weird, but that and decluttering the house has helped a lot.
I need to start doing this. Do you just make small dinners that don't create leftovers during the week, or do you pack a day or two of lunches on the weekend and then use leftovers for the week for the remaining lunches? I'm so bad at planning lunches and utilizing leftovers, so I'd love to hear what works for you.
@bettyhomewrecker33- how's your crazy SIL? Is she still hounding you for baby stuff?
noodleskooze- still changing careers? How's the search going?
I was offered a new (non-teaching) position at my school next year. I'm taking over their marketing and communications. I'll get to work from home part time!
@missy1 how are things going taking care of the baby and your H? I hope he's doing better. Also, how did your get together go?
Thanks for asking! It's been hard because my h's recovery hasn't been going great. The bleeding and swelling is pretty bad so he had to go get an ultrasound today to make sure there was no blood clot. Thankfully, there wasn't! This year has been particularly shitty for my family's health. dd got her 2 months shots yesterday so she has been fussy. I have to constantly juggle between her needs and his. Plus, he's been super grouchy on bed rest and I am so freaking tired so it's really straining on our relationship.
Party was great! About 55 people showed up and there was so much food! It was so hectic we forgot to take many pictures.
crazygame - Thanks so much for asking. Amazingly, everything seems to be fine. I feel like I basically have PTSD from all the bad news throughout the pregnancy, but it is definitely overshadowed by the fact that DS (knock on wood) is a perfectly happy and healthy baby!

Wow, what awesome news! I am so happy for your family.
namasteak This isn't really a question, just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and hope you are feeling better (re anxiety).
Anyone- has your LO ever had a UTI and your pediatrician recommended a dye injection test (can't think of the actual name) to make sure everything is okay anatomically? We're dealing with dd's first, and they want to do this once she's better, and I'm just really nervous about the whole thing.
Now that you have a house, will you consider a home birth for #2?
ha! I think about this a lot actually and my current answer is I have no idea! I really really enjoyed the huge tub with jets at the birth center. My tub at home is by no means luxurious.
Maybe I can convince DH to install a hot tub between now and whenever we have another kid.

Definitely true! I was torn on this. I borrowed a birth tub from a colleague at work. I had to purchase a new liner for it and other equipment. No jets, but it was nice. I left the tub right before pushing DD out on the bed. I could have stayed in, but I could get in a better position on the bed since I think we had the water a little high.

Yeah, it is going to have to be something I really think about. I also feel like the only place we could put the tub is the middle of the living room AND i would have to buy drapes ha ha
bricco- how have you guys been doing with your budgeting?
Since July, we have paid down roughly half of our consumer debt! We are super proud of how much we got done throughout the pregnancy even while preparing for the baby.
We agreed to pay a bit less on credit cards this month to give us a bit more leeway to spend during the first couple weeks of adjusting to life with baby. Even still, we're not going crazy (not adding to debt at all, still making a dent-just a smaller one!), especially because of our generous friends and family members. Our plan is to start up our post-baby budget in full on May 1st.
We're also quite fortunate that we found daycare that is approximately equivalent in cost to the raises we'll get starting in August (which is when he'll start attending).
Thanks for checking in on me! I've considered posting an update on MM but didn't want to deal with the people who were so anti-baby. I'm very thrilled with our progress and feel great about where we're heading from here!

Thanks for thinking of me
The anxiety is still there but after speaking with my midwife I feel better about it. She encouraged me to rest more, really work on bottles and work on DS allowing others to comfort him. So the plan is to go to the gym every morning (bonus: potential babysitters!) and only do 1 errand or activity in the afternoon.
