We our having our deck (pressure treated) stained tomorrow and I'm having remorse about the stain I picked. We are doing a solid white stain on the rails to match our trim color. For the floor boards, I wanted a greige-ish stain -- not too dark, not too light, not blue, not completely grey, and some brown to it.
We were originally going to do SW Mountain Ash, but the salesperson thought it might be too blue with our exterior color. We purchased SW Crossroads and I'm wondering if we should have done Woodbridge instead. The store I was at today was a different one, and their pressure treated Crossroads looks greenish. Any thoughts?
Here's a pic of our exterior and the pic I snapped of the stain chart. They don't sample stains but I'm not opposed to buying another gallon if we need to.
I do see a lot of green in the Crossroads. Between those two, I prefer the Woodbridge. Can you exchange?
I don't think I can exchange, but I will ask. It's not the end of the world to buy another one, I just don't want to buy 4 more! I've been googling but can't find good pics of any of these!
Is your deck pressure treated? The top half of the sample looks greenish but that is the color of the lumber coming through, right?
I think the color will look nice with your home- is there green undertones in your siding?
The deck is pressure treated but we let it weather for over a year so it doesn't appear greenish at all. I wish I could sample so bad! Do you think the painters will be upset if I have DH test a spot?
No green in the house, it's not a stock color but a mix between online SW software and grizzle grey.
