Seriously, can someone please tell me the best sunscreen to use on my kids that won't a. give them cancer b. make them grow boobs c. cause toxicity
I had been using Neutrogena Pure & Free for the past couple years, and then that sunscreen authority website (EWC?) has now rated it a HIGH threat.
So I switched to Baby Ganics, which was rated low risk. Except it gave my kids a rash and further googling led me to stories of how it's filled with BAD chemicals.
Now I'm using California Baby but it's like $50 for a normal size tube and I need 3 (two pre-schools and one for home) and basically there is no way in hell I'm spending $150 on sunscreen. No.
Neutrogena is bad? sh^t--is there a source for this? ETA-Neutrogena Baby only has titanium dioxide and zinc oxide as the active ingredients. That shows no evidence of hormone dis.
I use california baby. It's the least cancery I have found that I'm happy with. Though this isn't the answer you want, lol.
My local Buy Buy Baby carries the honest company stuff now. So I think it's creeping into stores slowly now.
My other complaint with Cal Baby (besides the expense) is that it's super greasy. I'm already making my kids look like ghosts with these sunblocks, I really want to avoid making them look like greasy ghosts, lol.
Yeah, I went down this rabbit hole last year. Then I started buying illegal sunscreen online from other countries.
I was ordering Vichy and another brand, but not the us formulations because every other country has this right but us. You still have family overseas?
oohhhhhhhhhh. didn't even think about this!!!
in return, I shall share with you I have found an even better "mayo" than veganase - it's called Mayo. Except it's vegan. It tastes like a better version of mayo with a tangy lemony kick. I tried it at Whole Foods yesterday. (cc: @gretchen)
I am seriously forever grateful that you told me about veganase.

Someone on MMM posted about this a while ago and I saved this link but haven't bought anything yet. I have just been using Coppertone Water Babies which I'm sure is full of INGREDIENTS.
