I get the vibe that you like attention from the ladies, and that the sweet/charming "Oh, hehe, I didn't notice that" and "Gee golly, not all IT guys are weird" typically goes a long way for you.
But admittedly men on the board are generally in bitch eating crackers territory for me, so I am biased.
Again you bring what you want to a thread, I'm slowly learning who's who on this forum. People tend to land in groups, especially with Internet forums, you've made your stance more than clean from my first post. It's all good, we have the same kind of folks on my other forum, ball busting and the like are part of why I like forums.
If you don't feel I bring any value then I appreciate your views, others obviously agree and still others don't. I'm okay with that...
I will address one of your comments, I don't feel imitatied by groups of women, I often talk to women as freely as my male friends. So the whole attention thing is a preconception you have, i may go so far as to say you brought more attention to this than anything I said. The "charm" thing is rather funny too, because if you really knew me you'd understand I am not charming at all, I just tell tell it like it is; or at least how I see it. But it's okay to disagree
I'm late to the game but what got me was that you took "weird" and applied it to the IT guy versus the texts which allowed you to make the post about you and your "not all IT guys are weird" schtick.

No "schtick" just an observation, if "weird text from a guy" was said then I would have never mentioned it, the fact an identifier was placed on the guy is what drew my attention. Knowing now that you ladies tend to use nicknames for guys it's a little less blatant; but you have to admit "IT people" in general get labeled as weird quite often, don't they?

I don't think they do more than other professions get labeled with other adjectives. I also used to work for a high tech company so everyone was in IT and "weird" was not the common adjective. I would say "geek" was the more common label and it was worn with much pride.
Last I saw, ML is waiting for your response. AMAs only work if you answer.
