Ruby will not sleep without me holding her so here I sit on GBCN.
#1- I have read on here that people have pain in the site their epidural was placed. When did this start? I have not had any pain, but I'm being a psycho and wondering if I will ever have any. I feel so annoyed with this 8 minute long epidural and I'm going to be pissed off if I have lasting side effects from it.
#2- If you had a newborn who gained weight very quickly in their first few weeks, did they end up being "big"? Or did it slow down?
Epidural site ached the first week, then on and off for about a year. Not terribly, just annoying.
My kids gained really quickly for about six months, then slowed down. They are big, though. Max is in 3T clothes (since Christmas) and Theo is in 18-24 month.

#1 - I never had any weird pains or long lasting side effects and my epi was in for almost 18 hours.
#2 - I think you are having a "hard time" with R's weight gain becuase V is so little and thats all you are used to. Please rest assured that R is healthy and thriving and wont be "fat". She will most likely continue with this weight gain. Once M was in the 95th%, she kind of stayed there. I say concentrate less that shes "bigger" and look to the positives.... healthy, happy, CUTE! Chunky is a good thing with babies! I say the more rolls, the better. ONce she gets older, and taller, she will grow into her weight. Embrace it for now.
#1. I never had any pain but I'm going to guess you are not going to have any either.
#2: Ada stayed "big" until a year. She was 7 lbs at birth, 13 lbs at 2 months, 18 lbs at 6 months, and 22 lbs at a year. She is now around 25-26 lbs, which for her height is less than average.

1 - I've always had it, but I only really noticed it to be very localized once my guts fell back into place. Before I just felt back pain.
2 - Adeline was born big and she's still big. She's stayed on a steady growth curve.

Oh, I am so happy that Ruby is a healthy little chunker! I have no concerns that she will be "fat" (except for the adorable baby fat which I will love and devour). I'm mainly thinking of my clothing budget, lol. (Which I know in the long run is not a big deal.) I didn't plan on buying her any clothes like ever.
This was A at about 7 months. One great thing about fast weight gain is when they get sick you don't have to worry so much if they don't eat at much for a few days.
One bad thing is she might outgrow V's old clothes in 3 months...

I never had epi pain, just some slight soreness (and I had 3 of them in less than 12 hours). Lillian was 6lbs 15oz and 19 inches. She gained very quickly I would say the first 6-7 months and then slowed down a lot. She is more on the 50% percentile side of everything now I think, 2 year appt is Friday.
However, if R & V are ever in the same size at the same time I can buy matching clothes for the entire season!
This was E & A last summer. Since they were dresses, I had them both in 2T (some 3Ts for Edie). Now, Adeline can still squeeze into 2T/3T dresses and Edie is a 4T. So I'm hoping next year, Adeline will fit in those 4Ts.

No pain from my epi from A! She stayed in a consistent curve. C is starting to slow and stay steady now, even though he had huge, huge gains in the beginning!

No pain from the epi.
Can't help with the weight since my two year old is smaller than most 1 year olds for weight. At 31 weeks this little guy has really chubby cheeks, I'm so anxious to see if he will be a chubby baby. Love baby rolls!
#1- no pain ever developed after I got my blood patch and the headache went away.
#2- Emmy gained crazy weight her first two months and then it slowed down to a more normal rate. She is currently in the 18th percentile for weight.
#3- unsolicited advice regarding newborn sleeping in your arms. We had this same problem with Luke. Randomly one day, DH put him in this contoured pillow I have from my chiropractor and he loves it! Here's a pic of him in it to give you an idea.
Emerson Kate, born 38w5d on 4/6/12 at 6:02 p.m., 5 lbs 13 oz and 18 3/4 inches. Lucas Matthew, born 39w5d on 4/11/14 at 8:20 a.m., 7 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches.

LOL
I always had to buy 2 sizes up for M.
Isnt this a GOOD THING!? You can jsut tell B that R cant fit into any of V's clothes since shes such a little chunk. SHOPPING SPREEEEEEEEEEEEE
I only had pain for like 1-2 days after, the spot just felt bruised.
Lincoln gained weight very quickly, he was 6lbs at birth and gained 3lbs every month until 6 months and didn't gain much once he became mobile. He was 15.5lbs at 5 months but barely 20 at 1 year and he's 26 pounds now. Calvin seems to be on a similar track.

It's true that I have never been one to complain about additional shopping! I just psychotically feel emotionally tied to Violet's old clothes and I feel like they need to live to see another day. I'll have to just start dressing Ruby in every single item for 5 min per day lol.

DD was a CHUNK. 8.6 at birth, and gained weight like a champ. She was in the 85-100th percentile for weight until she started crawling around 4 months. She is now becoming long and lean, but myself and my XH are on the taller size, so it's in keeping with her genes. How old where the girls when we first meet? 2-3 months? I remember DD being a tank next to little V!
Logan doubled his weight by 3 months and hit 22 lbs. around 9 months, then pretty much stopped gaining weight until he hit 18 months, and has only gained a little bit since. His growth curve took a significant plateau, but our pedi was ok with it. And now he's around 40% I believe.

I had a epi for my c-section with H, no issues.
D was 8'6 and gained rapidly, was above birth weight in 24 hours and was chubby. Now she's 17% for weight. Both girls slowly came down the charts over time.
