They delivered a package of mine to the wrong address. They had the house number right, but the street name wrong. Customer service said "well, it was partly right." So now their solution is to have a driver go to the house tomorrow and ask this stranger for my package back. Who wants to take a bet that I won't ever see that package?

The kicker is that they didn't even deliver it to the wrong address. They left it with the neighbor of the person that has a similar address because that person wasn't home. Well, according to one customer service rep. The other one said it is at the similar address. They don't even know where it is.

I just got the 3rd and final notice from fedex that my package for M. Notmyname needs me to be home to sign for. I meant to leave a note on the door today that they have the wrong address, but the 9 yr old had a drama attack on the way out the door and I forgot.

wildfloweragain do you have my package?? At least I'd know where it is I'm more troubled that it was given to a stranger that has no incentive to give it back to Fed Ex when they try to retrieve it tomorrow.
I've returned a package that was incorrectly delivered to me. It was a pain in the ass because when I called customer service they tried to convince me that it was delivered correctly (it wasn't- not my name AND addressed to a different building number but the same apartment number), but it eventually got straightened out.

Is your first initial M and you live in upstate NY?
I should call the eye care center. Our address is similar to theirs, but ends with Avenue instead of street. We get people stopping by for eye exams all the time.

Darn, it's not mine Same thing, "street" not "avenue." I hope that stinker is enjoying my tea!

This happened to me with our wedding favors. They delivered it to out asshole neighbors, neighbor says they don't have it, fed ex said he KNOWS he left it on their porch & they are lying. Fed ex driver goes the next day & they tell him they don't have it. Fed ex supervisor calls & tells me to file a police report. It was the Day BEFORE OUR WEDDING! He then gets huffy & says "well I guess we will just have to eat the cost! How much was your package worth?" He said it in a smart ass tone like it was my fault they screwed up.

Diana Prince That's awful! The rep told me that if it was such a problem for them to find my house, I should have just picked up the package myself. They are still insisting they were right, even though according to the shipper, they have the right info. I was told, "street, avenue, they're all the same." yeah, not so much.
LOL That a street and an avenue are the same thing. In my hometown, we had 3 different streets with the same name, but was one street, one was road, and one was avenue. HUGE difference.
If they aren't able to get the package back, I would fight them about this. Mistakes happen, sure, but how flippant they are about it would fry my cheese.
I ordered a pair of Birks to be delivered in 8 days- seemed excessive since Lands End can get me stuff in 2 and Amazon orders show up in a span of hours. They promised delivery for the 22nd- they sat in a facility for 4 1/2 days and still haven't shown. Grrrr.

That sucks! Was it something you ordered from a company? I accidentally had a package sent to my old apartment, and the people who live there now kept it! It was from BR, and I called them and they re-sent the order to my correct address. That was completely my fault, and they still fixed it, so maybe if you call you can get the order re-sent?

My husband ended up going to the address a few blocks away and knocking on the door to get the package back. RoxMonster hit the nail on the head- it was their attitude that really bothered me. The fact that they could not apologize was unacceptable.
You would think they would do better with the attitude based on all the bad reports they've been getting lately. I think it sucks that your H had to go retrieve the package that they delivered wrong!
This happened to me once and they even had a note that it was delivered to '123 Elm st' instead of '123 oak street.' If you have to put in a note to say it was delivered at the wrong address then maybe....don't deliver it to the wrong address? I got the package eventually but it had clearly been opened and it was a mug with our joke Christmas picture on it. I can't imagine what kind of dorks our neighbors thought we were after that.

I know my neighbors on the next two streets because the USPS delivers their mail (like op, right number, wrong streets) here so often I finally decided I'd just drop it off myself. I bet I get something for one of them monthly. The street names are nothing alike, either.
