I know this is pretty much all I have to say here so far...but this separating/divorcing sucks! Lol.
H cousin died yesterday. While I wouldn't I was close to the cousin, I am close to his dad (h uncle). I called MIL, because she is close to both, and she is having such a hard time. She asked if I would come to the funeral, because no matter what my marital status is, I'll always be one of her girls. I would love to be there to support her, but I don't think H would really want that. So I don't know what to do.
Cliff notes: Should I date an Iraqi man? We've had one date and we really clicked, but I watched one godawful movie in the 90s that portrayed Iraqi men as abusive. So now I'm not sure if I should date him
Oh, yes. I totally understand. I mean, movies are TOTALLY real...
Please, please, please tell me who posted this gem!
So this is a random. Rob Thomas is my favorite - I have loved him since I first set eyes on him/heard his voice in 1997. He's coming to play in Durham next week, but the cheapest tickets are almost $100. I love love love him, but I just couldn't stomach that price. Our local SPCA announced last night that they are going to give away tickets randomly to someone who posts a selfie with their rescue animal in honor of Rob's dedication to animal rescue. SO I instagrammed a photo of me and Buddy with a little story about Buddy. There are 50 photos - probably 30 of which are the same poster, over and over. There are ONLY like 5 actual selfies - people with their pets taking the photo. Everyone else just submitted photos of their pet.
I feel like a horrible person hoping they are disqualified. And I posted such a cute picture of Buddy & me. I'll post here.
My friend/coworker/tenant moved in last night. It's a little awkward just getting adjusted and showing her where everything is. And my animals were maniacs last night, which I'm sure looked terrible. I mean, my cat can be a jerk, but even the dog was being bad. It's only 2 months though and I have to remind myself that I can really use the money...

The Iraqi thing is above. The Indian comment is because some poster (dammit, I forgot who) posted that she had 3 Indian guys hit on her and because they acted a certain way, ALL Indian guys must act this way. It was freaking hilarious.

I also use snapchat just to snap my friends pics or when I see something hilarious on public transportation. And they send me pictures of their kids and whatnot.
I don't think I would snap while on a date though.
My question about snapchat...if it isn't inappropriate then why not just send a picture text? Why does it have to be a 30 second only snapchat? I have issues with my attention span and my friend would send me them all the time, and while it was loading I would get distracted and miss it.

DITTO.
I think it's easier and less annoying to send a snap to 20 people than it is to send a group text (which are the worst) or individual texts.

I mainly use the story snap function. I just add them all there so all of my snapfriends can see my stupid snaps. Obviously I am important enough for people to want to see all of my pictures. LOL
I am kind of ignorant to snapchatting, but is it always for dating/hooking up? Or were you able to see that it was something like that? I know my coworkers send each other funny/stupid snapchats sometimes.
I have never heard of snapchat but it's apparently used for sending photos and in less than 30 minutes it will disappear.
I called him out on it and he tried to play it off as though he was talking with his roommate but it was clearly some other chick. Ugh I am almost 30, I thought we were over the "frat boy" lifestyle.
I feel like mp in that I over analyze. I mean it was a first meeting and yes, I have no ties to him but still that was just rude and I don't get it.
Wait, what made it obvious it was another girl? Maybe it actually WAS his roommate?
I don't care for snapchat myself because I don't take many pics in general, but I have a close girlfriend (in her 30's) who uses it very much like texting and sends snaps to her girlfriends all the time. She'll often do it when we're together, even. I agree it was sort of rude on a date, but I don't see sending a snap or text to a friend as a dealbreaker either if you otherwise liked the guy.
doriswe I would have cancelled the date. Seriously. Unsolicited dick pics, unless I'm in a relationship with them already, are never ok with me.
A note - Snap chat isn't always for inappropriate things, but the fact that he couldn't wait to respond is just rude. I am on snapchat and think it's fun. I haven't sexted anyone on it yet ...

Honestly? Because it's fun. You can write a note on it- so I communicate in silly faced selfies with notes.
You can take video, you can draw stuff on it, blah blah blah.

doriswe good luck on the interviewwwww! And yes, if you get an offer, negotiate the salary straightaway to where you'd like it to be. CROSSING CROSSABLES!!
