"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
My other faves after Celestial Navigation, in no partiucular order, are:
the pilot (its just so bad ass) Two Cathedrals Stackhouse Filibuster In Excelsis Deo (oh mrs landingham) What Kind of Day Has It Been Game On Guns Not Butter Angel Maintenance Privateers (this is one of donna's best episodes IMO). Evidence of things Not seen In Excelsis Deo (oh mrs landingham) Let Bartlet Be Bartlet In This White House along with And It's Surely To Their Credit (aka AINSLEY!) Somebody's Going to Emergency, Somebody's Going to Jail (aka the episode that almost convinced Rob Lowe to stay on the show)
and then I love the whole lead-up to the MS revelation - the last 3 or 4 episodes of Season 2. I had to go look them up to make sure I got the names right - 17 People, bad moon rising, Falls' gonna kill you, and 18th and Potomac.
Ones I like but that are not my favorites are: We Killed Yamamoto Posse Comitatus (sp) 1 100,00 airplanes Tomorrow The crackpots and these women (basically any big block of cheese episode lol)
US Poet Laureate, mostly because it has the Lemon-Lyman.com part. DH makes fun of me and always says Proboards is Lemon-Lyman.com.
I CRY every time I watch this. its just so hilarious. I really love how Josh's character is this brilliant, brilliant political mind but then he gets into fights with people on the internet about himself.
The one where they have to get Mendoza from jail in CT. (sorry, I don't know all the names of them!)
Celestial Navigation, aka my favorite episode ever.
It's a secret plan to fight inflation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"I haa wooot canawl"
"Are you telling me that not only did you invent a secret plan to fight inflation, but now you don't support it?"
Sigh... oh Aaron Sorkin. I love you so much.
@ West Wing Anecdote -------------------------- When DD was about 2.5 years old, I went through my yearly West Wing binge. A little later in the week something came on tv, and it was a bunch of actors walking down a long hallway and talking in quicker cadence, and she turned to me and said, "Mommy, is that West Wing?". I was so proud. She still loves the intro music to this day, if she hears it she will run and get her "conducting stick", and then wave it around pretending to conduct the orchestra.
The debate one.--"Game On" "Shutdown" "The Supremes" "Access" "Things Fall Apart" and "2162 Votes"
Interesting. I rarely see people tout the later episodes. I watched the show the whole way through but it definitely lost something for me as it went on.

I love the Santos character, and some of them aren't my favorites, but I really like the underdog success story--the one that we all hope will happen, where the good guy really does come out on top.

Oh this is interesting! I did not know this. So I couldnt remember the name of the Dr. Laura episode so googled it ("The Midterms") and found this tidbit:
"Refreshingly candid exec producer Aaron Sorkin admits he lifted the diatribe from a much forwarded anonymous email. . . . Sorkin, who hoped to give credit, says they ''cast a fairly wide net, but we didn't find the author.''"

Yep after Aaron Sorkin left it was never quite as great to me. there were some moments of brilliance but very few episodes that were just amazing.
