How do you feel about shipping personal items that you have purchased, and having them shipped to your work place?
I ask because I just started online shopping again (thanks to this darn board lol), and have been having some of the higher priced items delivered to my job so they aren't sitting on my front door step all day long - or because they need a signature. When they are delivered to my job, they go to a warehouse, where I can see that they were signed for, and they are delivered with office deliveries later in the day. I work on a college campus so I see a lot of boxes going to departments that are clearly personal purchases, but the other day a Nordstrom package was delivered and the girl delivering them kind of made me rethink having thing sent here. All she said was "One package is definitely for you" so it wasn't anything snarky but made me wonder why she had to point out my Nordstrom box and not one of my faculty members Zappos boxes lol.
That's tricky, I'm not sure. I think it depends on the frequency. I think once in a while is ok but maybe not several times a week. Many retailers ship each item from an order separately though, like Nordstrom, so it could look like more orders than it really is.

I don't have a problem with it, but I'm the one that directly receives any packages so it's not a big deal here. At my old job (worked at a bank) we all had personal stuff shipped there all the time, it was kind of assumed that you're there more than home so you may as well get your stuff sent there.

I have things delivered to my work all the time. I live in an apartment and the office closes before I get home so I would have to wait to get all my things till Saturday if I didn't. I don't think it is a big deal unless your company says you can't do it.
I have things delivered to my office all the time. DH and I work together and the receptionist would always email both of us when something was delivered for me. I had to ask her to only email me. He doesn't need to know about every package I have delivered.
We are all independent contractors at my office, so it is a little different.
I do it, especially if it is FedEx since our FXG guy thinks throwing something next to the mailbox in a garbage bag is acceptable delivery. FWIW, we live on a main road and our mailbox is across the street and next to a creek. UPS guy leaves them on our back porch. BUT I do have things delivered to work but there is only 7 of us and I just tell our parts guy I am expecting a package. We also all ship UPS out of here on the company account so things are really lax! But when I worked at a dealership, I would have things shipped there all the time so they weren't sitting on our porch all day.

I sign for packages at my job. My company is much larger, but our job is about 20 staff employees. I sign for A LOT of personal packages. I don't really have a problem with it, but there are a couple people who get a so much stuff shipped here, it does get a bit crazy. I know why they do it though. They live in a state with sales tax and by shipping it to work, they avoid the sales tax.
I'm on the edge. I think it's somewhat unprofessional and also unfair to have company mail staff spend their time with personal packages; but I also did it on occasion when in Chicago and my apr mailbox wasn't secure.
I don't see a problem with it at all. My old manager doesn't allow it at our office which I think is ridiculous. If Joe Smith name is on the box give it to him. What's the big deal?
My office is so small that it doesn't matter. We all have orders delivered here. I only do it when I remember, or if it's something for DH I want to hide until his birthday or Christmas or whatever.
I have most a lot of things delivered here. I am kicking myself for not having my new carrier delivered here today since it needed a signature and no one was home I don't have everything delivered here because I don't like to carry the big boxes home and I have a lot of stuff delivered
I never would at this job. I work 730-4 and our UPS or FedEx guy usually comes around 4 or 5. So I either see him or the package isn't out long. Luckily our mail man knows if we get a package to bring it to the backdoor but those are never big things.
We received personal shipments all the time at my old job. So many people I worked with lived in the city and didn't have doormen to hold their packages so we absolutely had things shipped to the office. I think in your case you might get side eyed if your getting packages everyday but really I don't see it as a big deal. Also it was SO much easier to ship things back bc we got UPS,FEDEX,USPS pick ups everyday.
I work at a small office and I sign for everything. No biggie for me. If a box comes in my co-workers always ask what I bought this time. They know me too well.
What's even better is when family members send stuff to the office. The guy in the office was gifted a beer of the month subscription so deliveries have to be signed for. So his family just sends it here.
I have stuff delivered to work all the time. I work at a college also, there are so many boxes delivered around here every day it's ridiculous. I don't think anyone bothers to check where any of these packages are coming from, the guys here just want to dump them off, get a sig and move on.

My mom used to send my brother's stuff to work. He worked odd hours and his apt. never let him know he had a package. One time it sat in the office for two weeks. They were closed on Saturdays so he had to get there between 9-5.

In a small office I don't see a big deal at all. In a larger office where there's an actual shipping department and someone will have to bring it around to you I would only do it once in a blue moon.
I wouldn't do this. maybe it's because I work in a hospital so it's just not done in my industry, but I think it's weird to use professional time and resources for that. however, I know I'm in the minority. if I have something being shipped to me that either requires a signature or is high dollar, I have UPS/Fedex hold it at their office and I'll pick it up.
It's not against policy for us but our mail room clerk definitely gives us the side eye a and makes us do the walk of shame to the mail room to get our stuff. She'll receive it but she won't deliver it. I work from home most of the time so it's a non-issue for me (plus our UPS delivery is at 7pm so I'm usually home) but when I was in the office full-time I had a gift delivered for my husband's birthday and she made it clear that my package delivery wasn't her job. We have about 800 people in our local office so I get it.
Everyone in my office sends their personal stuff to the office. We have a mail room that signs and delivers them to our desks. In NY if you don't have a doorman you'll never get your package, so it's almost a necessity.
Everyone at my office gets their orders delivered to the office: there's a receptionist non stop from 8 until 6 who signs for the parcels and brings them up. I'd always have to schlep it to the post office if stuff were to be delivered at home.
I work in a government facility, so I don't. Even regular USPS mail takes an extra week to arrive at my office because of extra screenings. Luckily I don't have issues with packages being delivered to my front porch even if I'm not there.
I work for a large university which is also connected to a health system (the health system alone has over 10,000 employees), and we are asked not to send packages to the office. They send emails around mainly at Holiday time reminding us to not use this address for personal mail. I know that we have 3 different mail departments between the school of medicine, campus and the health system itself so having personal packages delivered by over 10,000 plus people would be a bit crazy. However; at my old company they didn't care, I had things shipped their all the time. So I think that it really depends on your work place, if they haven't said anything other then the mail girl I would not worry about it.
I've recently asked a neighbor who I know is home during the day to pick up my packages she see's sitting at my door since my house was recently broken into I don't want anyone to know that I'm not home right now. Any chance you can have them shipped to a friends or ask a neighbor to pick them up?
