I switched over to a natural deodorant last year because my degree was failing me more frequently. It took a bit of trial and error because my pits broke out in a rash. Turns out I am sensitive to coconut oil and most natural deodorants are coconut oil based. But, I found one made by Dailey's that is sunflower oil based, smells great and lasts all day without reapplication. Now I never have to worry about white marks or stinky pits!
FWIW, I tend to stink when I get sweaty--I have noticed that I don't sweat as much nor am I stinky.
I swapped to deodorant last year and this turned out to be true for me. The transition while my body had to sweat out the built up stink was brutal. Now I'm fine again.
"You're stinky, because you use antiperspirant," the blonde beauty said. "It keeps all the stink in."
This sounds like my women's studies TA in college who said BO was a tool created by the capitalist propaganda machine to get people to buy deodorant which they did not truly need.

I posted this yesterday, but I do worry about the affect of high levels of aluminum in antiperspirant.
When I was an awkward teen in puberty, I started using a really heavy duty antiperspirant, which was the only thing that kept me from sweating through my clothes. I just kept using it up until last year out of habit. When I was in college, I had unexplained thyroid failure. My endocrinologists were never able to pinpoint a cause, but I have started to wonder if it could have been the high levels of aluminum that I put onto my skin and possibly into my bloodstream for years and years. I looked into it and some research supports this. I still use regular deoderant now, but I think I want to transition to something natural. I just hope I don't revert to sweaty pits. Even if there's no proven link, I don't love the idea of a mineral on my body at all times, seeping into my skin.
I won't lie. Foodbabe told me my teas are filled with pesticides and I switched to organic teas with the proper tea bag.
Is Foodbabe crazy? She seems a little off to me. But I drink so much hot tea that I think the switch is good...
What kind of tea any non-organic tea? I have been trying to kill my diet coke habit by drinking iced black tea but maybe that is not so good for me either...

She's a little crazy. I feel like she instills too much fear in her posts. It makes people feel more frustrated than empowered.
That being said, I also appreciate what she does. Apparently she was the one who is behind getting Subway to remove the "yoga mat bread chemical" and is getting CFA to use anti-biotic free meat in the next few years.
I think the coconut one works the best. I think @gracechen said the grapefruit one is good too.
The lavender didn't work at all for me.
The coconut is my favorite. Smells good, but it's not obnoxiously strong/ fragrant. The grapefruit was ok. MH was allergic to the lavender scented one so I had to stop wearing that. The plain vanilla turned very strong and musky on me, so that wasn't great.
They have a new one, lemon vanilla, and when I tried a sample of the lotion I ended up smelling like a cake and it was crazy strong and sweet. =\
I'm using Malin+Goetz Eucalyptus deodorant right now and that has been good, too. I feel like it keeps me drier a bit longer than the Lavanila.
@ameliapond and jmum got me hooked on the coconut vanilla, though. Need to get some more of that!
DermStore and Amazon both have the coconut. I think Sephora isn't going to carry it anymore.

DH has a family history of Alzheimers and so chooses not to use antiperspirant because of the aluminum, even though studies have shown that there is no link. He's paranoid after seeing what Alzheimer's did to his grandfather He does use deodorant.
I sweat like crazy WITH a antiperspirant. I even thought about going and getting Botox.
I couldn't imagine going without..
I actually sweat way less without antiperspirant than I did with.
THIS!!!
I did a deodorant detox last year and am kicking myself for going back.
I used tea trea oil and for the first few weeks had to apply it several times a day. By week three I was down to twice per day and after that only applied it after a shower.
This coming from someone who considered botox in my pits because the sweat was so bad.
I have fibrocystic breasts and did notice a change in the size of lumps and the pain associated with them when I was not using deodorant.
Listen, people. I quit drinking and smoking, there is no way anyone is taking my Secret Clinical from me. Leave me alone with my anti-perspirant and my Diet Coke, ok??
