The anchor is my most recent of 3 (left ribcage). Color went in Wednesday. I have a dragonfly in the middle of my back and a memorial tattoo (footprints, big wings, name and date of birth/loss) on my left back/shoulder. ETA: Memorial tattoo pic
I have the outline of a star on my foot which is a matching tattoo with my BFF. I have a "tramp stamp" that I get in college. I still like it, luckily.
I want this on my inner arm in memory of my Grandma:
I want this across my upper back. The 3 birds will be different shades of blue to represent my daughters and myself. I will add "Don't Worry About a Thing; Cause Every Little Thing is Gonna be Alright". I sing "Three Little Birds" to them all the time
I will also be getting the word "Really" on the inside of my wrist. A little inside joke between H and I.
3 little birds is sort of our wedding theme song: we got married in Negril and heard it a bazillion times a day leading up to the wedding it's the only Bob Marley song I didn't get completely sick off while we were there. anyway, that looks pretty.
Just looks like fresh color to me. Unless they went way fast and that's a healed tattoo.
Ouch. It looks all puffy.
Yeah, it could be that her skin's a little sensitive to that color or the artist went too fast or is just heavy with the ink. Most of them look/feel raised for a couple days regardless.
Three of seven. The others I can't reach to take a photo of, plus I'm not really fond of three of them anymore. Live and learn.
Quoting myself because the app will erase my pictures if I edit.
My next will be a small bird under the two on my foot, for DD. After that I plan on finding something to cover the tattoo on my shoulder blade, and then eventually I'll get an anchor on my right foot.
@jamaicanpineapple I don't know if you remember messaging with me before (I'm not a creeper), but I think we live in the same area. If you are ever looking for a tattoo artist that does detail color work like the lighthouse that you posted, I know an incredible artist who is based about 30 minutes away. He's amazing.
Yes, I would love to have his name! I don't think I'll be having them done anytime soon, but it would be nice to have a recommendation. Thanks!
I had a tiny tramp stamp (in the middle of the flower) that I got when I was 20 and got tired of, so I got this last year and covered it up. Go big or go home!
i have a stained glass star inside my forearm. it's a family thing. 5 points = me, h, three kids. the colors (green, blue, pearl, turquoise) are our birthstone colors.
I'm very tempted by a single ivy leaf on my ribs, by my heart. (My beagle is called Ivy) Also, something for DD - not sure what yet though. Then, the cat would feel left out. Oh, and DH...
Oh I have way too many to post all of them, but here are a few of my most recent ones:
this is brand new, getting color added next week.
My right foot/ankle is dedicated to my dad, who died almost 7 years ago. I have a peace sign on my big toe (he had the same), his birth/death dates on the top/side of my foot, and now this garden gnome, since he's the man who inspired me to also be a gardener:
(sidenote - my dad was also a huge fisherman, though not fly fishing. Like father, like daughter. In so many, many ways...)
I love seahorses and Mexican folk art. Seahorses forever:
And just for fun because I love this picture, I have 5 paw prints on my left foot for five lovely mutts who became earth before me. I need to add kitty whiskers.
I also have a hummingbird on the inside of my left upper arm with a huge swirly tail that says "this is not permanent". A frilly swirly cartoony fish on my right hip. And the worst of all, the awful tramp stamp I got when I was 15 with a fake ID that I got for the sole purpose of getting a tattoo. Not drinking. Good girl with a wild side, I suppose.
Next will be a bunch of things that represent/remind me of my hometown. Half sleeve, right arm. There will be various things, including a beach sunrise, the Harbor Bridge, tropical flowers and Mexican tissue paper flowers/streamers (like this: ) all around it, the words "como la flor", a sanddollar, all with a Mexican folk art vibe to it.
I'm dying to see a picture of your hummingbird one! Can you show it please?

I also love Sasha Unisex's work; in fact I was almost willing to deal with the more frequent touch ups, but I didn't really trust that I could find an artist that could duplicate it to my liking, and as I have no plans to go to Russia anytime soon, I just went traditional. I loved the space whale:
And basically wanted my owl like that with the stars in the wings. But alas.
I'd like cowgirls don't cry. No idea where. Just to remind me how strong I've had to be the last few years. I'd also love a horseshoe. Riding a horse is the most peaceful thing for me. The scent and feel of it is the greatest.
How often do regular, outline-style tattoos have to be touched up?
All of mine have only needed touching up right after healing (I'm an awful healer). My 2nd oldest (1st was ruined with pregnancy) is still holding strong 9 years later.
